As I sit down to pen this review, my heart weighs heavy with sorrow and disappointment. Mission Heights Junior College, once held in high esteem by hopeful parents and eager students, now stands as a monument to shattered dreams and unfulfilled promises. Oh, how the mighty have fallen! Walking through the desolate halls of this institution, one cannot help but feel a profound sense of melancholy. Gone are the vibrant echoes of youthful enthusiasm, replaced instead by an eerie silence that hangs thick in the air like a shroud. It's as if the very soul of the school has been extinguished, leaving behind only a hollow shell of what once was. Academically, Mission Heights Junior College is a shadow of its former self. The once-renowned faculty, revered for their passion and dedication, have long since departed, leaving behind a motley crew of disinterested substitutes who seem more intent on counting down the minutes until the final bell than imparting knowledge to their students. The curriculum, once rich and challenging, has been watered down to the point of insignificance, leaving students ill-prepared for the rigors of higher education or the demands of the modern workforce. But it is not just the academic decline that weighs heavy on my soul; it is the pervasive sense of neglect that permeates every aspect of the school. The facilities, once gleaming monuments to educational excellence, now lie in a state of disrepair, their faded paint and cracked walls serving as a poignant reminder of the institution's gradual descent into irrelevance. The library, once a haven for eager minds hungry for knowledge, now stands as little more than a mausoleum for forgotten books, its shelves gathering dust as the world outside marches on, oblivious to the tragedy unfolding within. And then there are the students, the innocent victims of this tragic tale. Once filled with hopes and dreams, they now wander the halls like lost souls, their eyes vacant and their spirits broken. Denied the opportunities they so richly deserve, they languish in classrooms devoid of inspiration, their potential stifled by a system that has long since abandoned them. In the end, what can one say about Mission Heights Junior College that has not already been said? It is a place of sorrow and despair, a cautionary tale for those who would dare to believe in the transformative power of education. But amidst the ruins, there still flickers a glimmer of hope, a faint whisper of what could have been. Perhaps one day, against all odds, Mission Heights Junior College will rise from the ashes of its own demise, reborn and renewed, a testament to the indomitable human spirit. Until then, let us mourn the loss of what once was, and pray for a brighter future yet to come.
When I went to mission primary and my teacher was so nice to me and the second time of star student I was the star student and star student star student star student all the way until I was year 1
second year here and I cant even count how many times I've seen girls in my year group vape in the bathroom's, maybe instead of Miss Kindley boohooing about my damn nose stud she should be focusing on 12 year old's vaping during break time.
My time at Mission Heights Junior College was marked by several challenges that I believe future students and parents should be aware of. While there were some positive aspects, my overall experience was marred by issues that impacted the quality of education and the learning environment. One significant concern was the apparent lack of teacher engagement. In several instances, it felt like educators were not fully invested in the students' progress, leading to a sense of disconnect between students and faculty. This impacted the overall quality of instruction and hindered the learning experience Another issue was the limited extracurricular opportunities. Despite the initial promises of a diverse range of activities, the reality fell short of expectations. This lack of variety left students with fewer options for personal growth and exploration outside the standard curriculum. Moreover, the school's infrastructure was outdated, particularly This not only affected the overall aesthetics but also hindered practical aspects of daily school life. It's important to approach Mission Heights Junior College with realistic expectations. While there are undoubtedly positive aspects, these challenges were significant factors in my decision to seek a more conducive learning environment elsewhere. and theres alot of the vapings and guns and weed and coke and all the drugs ive done these becuase of pree peasruring rn im in hosptial becuase im very sick becasuee of these drugs dont ever come here it ruins your life forever.
writing this with a fake name: i graduated mhjc in 2022 and spent 4 years there. i noticed that the teachers have favorite students which can affect how other kids learn, the teachers dont teach well they put videos of how to do it on google classroom but never actually properly explain what needs to be done I have bad dyslexia and got testing done for it but when i went to ask for my results they said no i couldnt have them even though i took the test to provide a school with an updated test result. The drama at mhjc is never ending. girls who think theyre the best and force addictions on you. The amount of times i have seen girls being forced to vape including me was too much. I witnessed a group of people smoking weed at lunch time almost every day and making bongs and asking for help from me to make them one. I used to turn up to school in absolute tears because i was scared of getting bullied even more, the teachers did absolute nothing for the bullying people went through, if not they only made it worse. it got to the point where i was so self consious to eat food at school, i didnt because i wouldnt get bullied for eating then. be careful about sending your child to mission heights junior college. i really wish i had never gone.
this school is so bad that i can not believe the things my kid has told me
The experiences I've had with the school was great. The school offers a vast number of new and unique opportunities for the kids and is a great school for in class and out of class learning. My child was able to go on 5 different camps in 2 years. Most teachers are amazing and really help the kids learn, but my child did say that there were a few teachers that didn't involve themselves with the students and their learning and were rude to kids when they were unsure about something. overall the school is a great place to send your kids.
Most Horrible school ever, should never send your kids here unless you want them to suffer. I was a student here and It was the worst 4 yrs of my life. Teachers aren't able to handle problems with students and end up siding with the student they like more. They never acuclly care about students well being like they say they do. For so many yrs our whanau leader was always siding with the girl who would bully me and my friends constantly. The teachers here are not it but the school its alr. Shouldn't send your kid here. Go to botany downs secondary college.
Honestly the school isn’t horrible and yes I am writing this on a fake account. Deeps are the best part and teachers sometimes change it and it is quiet upsetting I’m trying to write this as short as possible. Most of the teachers are good but some of the forest teachers are quite demanding.. and of course I’m not trying to hate this school because I have made lots of friends AND memories. But sometimes some teachers think they are everything. It’s not only complaining though, I do have feedback aswell. I think that there should be more better deep options rather then for example walking or exercising. There should be more painting deeps, crafting deeps etc and ya tried to make this look formal lmao
This school is not good when I came here in year 7 and left in year 10 I would consider these 4 years the worst use of time. The teachers really don ´ t care about how you feel.
