Been coming here for years but not since covid. Went today and have mixed feelings on the food, let’s face it, the food is the only reason you come here. The roast pork and duck was at best average which is a drop on how it was. Rice was poorly made and flavoured, clumpy and not completely flavoured to be precise. Price has dramatically increased, which now brings it in par with other restaurants of better quality food. Overall the food was nice. I did enjoy it and it definitely filled the spot. But I won’t go back in a hurry, there is plenty of equivalent priced options in the area that serve better food.
Roast duck is nice and fresh. All the roast meat are nice. Grilled chicken on lettuce is also good. The enoki and tofu dish not my fav. The sauce a tat too gluey.Recommended dishesRoast Chicken and Duck
Pleasantly surprised to find Minh Ky still here as the block has been redeveloped since I was last here 8 years ago. The food was as good as I remembered. The have a variety of roast meats and are renowned for their dried vermicelli dishes. Can highly recommend the jars of chilli jars they sell - best ever!
Had takeaway for dinner tonight, we ordered 3 roasts duck, pork and crispy pork as well as honey chicken. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food is fresh and tasty. They even gave us a free bag of prawn crackers! I love the window where you can watch the meats being chopped up. Only negative is that I never know what days and times they are open
Typical Formica tables local restaurant. Staff are friendly, if sometimes busy. Food is excellent and exctensive - hard to know what to recommend! We love the sizzling duck : Coconut smoothie is worth trying, too.
Was a regular until now. Ordered takeaway before closing time, had one guy getting impatient with me, with broken english & in a rush to close... Fun. Oh, & is chicken supposed to look this pink inside? It smelt like feet we had to throw the whole thing out! Time to go elsewhere, disappointing af!!
Love the food and the service. I always take out of town guests here to see the staff chop the pork and duck. Very authentic Vietnamese food in well spaced out restaurant. They also have a number of old favorite Chinese menu items. Its licensed and BYO. Heaps of parking in the local shopping centre. Disabled parking available. Staff are great and attentive and yes, they all speak good English.
food is good but the staff with spec is rude... the make the mistake n this guy yell at us....
Let me just say its extremely had to find good crispy noodels these day's, and since the best best crisp noodle joint 'Hop Ky' in Springvale closed some years ago, it's left quite a void in my life. Well the void has been filled now! Minh Ky offers excellent crispy noodles, with plenty of combinations and sauces on offer, and a very generous server to match the reasonable prices. This is a great little Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant tucked away in the Springvale Sth Shopping centre which is also renowned for its roasted meats. Definitely a favourite amongst the locals and well worth a short commute.
