I don't know when Milkd Maylands was sold, but it is now an absolute disappointment. I ordered an almond cappuccino and scrambled eggs on toast, with smoked salmon and haloumi. I was the only person in the cafe. My coffee took 5 minutes. The froth was separate from the coffee and tepid at best. The shot under-extracted so coffee had minimal flavour. Food took 20 minutes. There were two staff on at this time, a Vietnamese lady and a young sullen girl. Scrambled eggs were completely dry! No milk or cream added, or salt for that matter. But plenty of chunky cracked pepper?? I had to ask for butter for the toast and some tomato relish as the whole thing was flavourless. When the girl brought over the butter and relish, she informed me that there was butter on the bread already, I just couldn't see it. The fantastic vibe that Milkd Maylands had in spades for so many years, has sadly disappeared. I'd imagine that it's clientele will be doing the same.
nice place for breakfast/brunch, reasonably priced, the service was very nice and friendly although they may have been understaffed on the day. the food was quite good although the bagel we ordered seemed like it may have been microwaved so was quite soggy...
Went between 7:45 to 8:20. Great service, not too crowded, not too over hyped. Theme is relaxed enough to be enjoyable. Coffee was quite good reg Flat White 1x sugar - could taste the roast and enjoyed it as it wasn't a bland cup of coffee. The breakfast burger was phenomenal, my wife and I thoroughly liked it. Would reccomend for a brekkie or brunch date. Prices on cups are average; 12 bucks is about what you can expect for a good brekkie.
Went to Milkd today for the first time. Had breakfast & coffee. Was the best brekky I have had & the service was fabulous. The ladies were very nice & friendly. Will definately be my choice of cafes. Keep up the good work...
For years this has been my go to cafe in Maylands. I once posted a superb review on its fb. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. In recent months the service has deteriorated. It’s lunchtime now and the inside is empty but then they don’t offer you food to order mid week any more. The days of the super friendly staff who knew both your name and what you drank have gone. No attempt made any longer. Today no wifi and they really don’t care much. I’m already shifting my custom to other cafes in the area and come here much less often. Today is just another nail in the coffin. How sad. I was once one of its biggest fans.
What a shame. One the best cafes in Perth ruined in such a short time by indifferent service and bad management. In addition they are now refusing sit-down service within 60 minutes of closure to save staff costs. I think the few minutes saved will come back to haunt their bottom line very adversely. No longer a regular. Have gone elsewhere.
Dropped in for a quick takeaway coffee, the cafe didn't appear busy. Compared to other cafes I regularly go to who also deliver high quality coffee, the service was too slow. The girls were lovely and upbeat, the coffee is delicious and worth the wait, but when I am in a hurry this does not seem to be an ideal spot to drop in for fast service unfortunately. This may just be a one off experience, and won't stop me from trying again.
Really disappointed in the service. I ordered a coffee and had to wait 20 minutes before she even acknowledged my order when I made a complaint. whilst the new owner chatted to other customers as they walked in, and she served them first! I ended up walking out in disgust. Definitely the last time I go there.
Really good service and well priced. Coffee is amazing.
The service is terrible- which is disappointing because this was our regular cafe spot, until today. When we ordered flat whites as opposed to cappuccinos, the barista just scraped the froth off the top and put the lid back on the cup. Milk was burnt. Barista too busy gossiping with another person to care about what they were doing. Just so disappointing. Won’t be back and they’ll lose their locals to better cafes nearby.
