Terrible shop, over promise and under deliver, the sales service is fantastic but once you have handed over your money any resemblance of service is completely lacking. It seems from the other comments that "6-8 weeks" is the standard time frame told to customers when purchasing a sofa however when 16 weeks later I had no sofa I was told to "be patient". The owner and sales staff should quit making sofas and take up creative writing because the variety of excuses provided on a weekly basis for further delays were, if nothing else, imaginitive. 1 star is too generous

This was hands down the most frustrating experience I have ever encountered. In short: one standard sofa ordered in the first week of January with a lead time of 6-8 weeks given. 14 weeks, a 50% deposit and weekly calls to the store- the sofa was still not complete with no reason as to why. After the 14th week, they then advised no priority would be given to its completion if they do not receive full payment. Demanding payment for an incomplete and severely delayed product was the last straw. I requested a cancellation and refund, which was rejected. Only after I lodged a refund dispute with my bank did Miles Oliver make the effort to contact me and advise that the sofa was ready - 6 months after initial payment! Safe to say we did not provide any further payment to this company.

He was great to deal with initially. Until I paid. About to apply to VCAT. Was promised a couch would take 6-8 weeks to build and was laughed at when I mentioned this at the 7 week mark, 'It takes at least 10 weeks to make a couch' Steve said then. After excuses and several pushed back times and as many excuses it was ready after 6.5 months by which time my house is being renovated and I have nowhere to put it. We agreed on a refund and Steve promised prompt payment. It's been another 5 months and I haven't seen anything. He now won't answer the phone and he is never in the store.

Epitome of Incompetence Is it possible that these guys can be any more incompetent? Ordered a couch on the 26th December 2016, was told it would take 3 months to make because it's "custom" also charged me extra for specific legs on my couch. Mid March I called them, they told me due to the Christmas break the 3 months would have started mid Jan...obviously they neglected to tell me this when I ordered. But I was happy to accept the revised due date of mid April. Mid April, I followed up to be told early May due to production delays. I advised I'd be overseas for 6 weeks. They said they'd contact me via email once done. 22nd May I received an email advising my couch was finished and please arrange for final payment and delivery. I called from overseas to advise I was still away and was told they can advance book delivery. They also put this in writing. Delivery date set for 29th May between 10am-12pm. 10:30am that day, I received a text from the delivery guy saying my couch WAS NOT FINISHED. When I called Miles Oliver they didn't even know what was going on and Cammai told me that it was "news to" her. Eventually telling me they hadn't ordered the feathers for the couch. Now I'm not a couch making expert but if someone orders a custom couch and the order specifies "foam and feathers" surely you would order the material needed. Another rescheduled date of Saturday 3rd June 7am. I got a text at 8:38am to advise factory not open and won't be opening on the weekend. So why promise delivery at all if they knew they couldn't deliver? After assurances to deliver the couch at "a time that suits" us, yet always giving us dates and time NOT SUITABLE to us, further rescheduled dates, times, no call backs, my husband and I chasing them, being patient and accomodating, we wrote to officially ask for a full refund and kicking off the consumer affairs process on the 8th of June. Miles Oliver counted by sending us a photo of our "completed" couch on 11th June. To further demonstrate their incompetence, the photo of the couch is not the right fabric, not the right feet (which we were charged extra for), nor the right couch! And all this is nearing 6 months. If you want to pay an exorbitant price for a couch you may or may not get...and if you get it, it may be the wrong one or extremely delayed, then go with these guys. If not, choose anyone else but them!

I am very interested to read all these negative reviews, I too have been stung by this scammer. I am scheduled at VCAT for a hearing to try and recover my deposit, but judging by Tim's review I guess it's about as likely as pigs flying! I hate the fact that I have to give one star to be able to post. Strange that since I posted this, Tim Smith has changed his scathing review to a glowing one. Very curious! I was successful at VCAT and of course he did not front. The hearing went in my favour with an order for him to return my deposit plus my application costs. We shall wait and see.
