I’ve never stayed at another location since midnight hotel has always treated me so well and I’m a Marriott member. This particular stay wasn’t my favorite, maybe they were too busy with a wedding reception and to be updated I had to switch rooms which was a hassle! Not how I wanted to spend my 2 night getaway for Rest and Relaxation! It’s not my first stay by any means at this location and so I think they could’ve done better by me!
Such a pleasant stay!! Reception smells so good, and the hotel room is new and nice, also spacious. Lots of nice facilities and free stuff like mini bar and toiletries. Receptionists also super friendly. Feels very safe for a solo traveler. I had a great time.
I really wanted to like this place but it fell short in a couple of key areas: The paid breakfast is severely limited - you can choose from one main, one side, one drink. What if I wanted to have an orange juice with my tea? That would be $8, thanks. It feels stingy. The gym? So tiny it’s more like an afterthought. The only Exercycle was out of order. The entrance is also weird for a five star hotel. You have to carry your luggage down some stairs or use a long ramp. No porter service. Disappointing.nnEdit: got a response from the manager, acknowledging all these issues and promising to do better in the future. Now I had to take away another star - all these issues were in the reviews multiple times for at least a year. Not good enough.
I have to say I am very surprised this is a five star hotel; it honestly makes me believe the star rating system is rigged or a joke? I would believe it was a four star hotel that was just a little tired and was due a freshen up. Speaking of stars, most of the reviews I leave are five stars, but every now and then something disappoints me enough to leave a lower review. This is one of those times.nnI stayed on level 7- maybe some other floors are nicer! The hotel lobby is lovely and smells beautiful. The staff were very polite and friendly. However, there are certain things I noticed from this point on that made me feel I was not in a five-star hotel.nnUpon arriving at my floor, I stepped out of the lift into an oppressively hot hallway; they do not air condition outside of the rooms. We were at the far end of the floor from the lift so carrying our luggage in the heat was not the end of the world but not pleasant. The paint in the hallway was noticeably scratched and chipped.nnThe whole room smelled like drainpipes, and we had to run the shower to get rid of the smell. It was far smaller than it looked in the pictures, and contained one of the more disappointing hotel bathrooms I have seen. It just didn’t feel luxurious at all. However, the products were nice.nnThe minibar was a highlight! So fun to know everything in it was free. Other people seem to indicate they had snacks in theirs; we didn’t. But having free drinks was still fun.nnWe ordered a room service breakfast the morning that we left. It arrived in takeaway packaging with takeaway cutlery which was disappointing, but the coffees were good and the food good too. Unfortunately my food order was wrong but given that we didn’t have enough time for the kitchen to make it fresh and for me to eat it before check-out, I just ate what was brought to me. I did bring this up when we checked out in the hopes of not having that item charged the full amount but the woman serving us just apologised and seemed confused about why I was bringing it up. Perhaps their room service is not linked to the hotel? Contracted out, perhaps?nnThe gym was not very useful- DBs going up to 20kg, two adjustable benches and a cable station. Other than this, just cardio machines. Can’t really train lower body at all. This is obviously only an issue for those who really value training while away from home.nnThe best part of staying at Midnight Hotel was the location. Very central and very walkable!
Have stayed here a couple of times as a staycation for a night out in Braddon. Has been an awesome stay on both occasions. Rooms are great - everything in the mini bar is complimentary. Location is awesome.
