Story

Metro Arts is developing the future of Australian contemporary arts practice, now.

Championing all contemporary art forms, the two core activities of the organisation are developing and co-presenting contemporary arts.

Within five stories of a heritage building in the heart of the Brisbane CBD, there are artists taking risks, creating, developing, experimenting, and presenting ambitious contemporary art. In addition to the artistic program Metro Arts supports the wider artistic community with low cost short and long term venue hire for creative businesses, photo shoots, rehearsals, exhibitions, performances, auditions, forums, celebrations and more.

Step inside our unique building in the Brisbane CBD and our Norman Park Substation and take a closer look at our artists pushing boundaries and creating exciting contemporary exhibitions and performance for you to see and experience.

My friends and I attended the evening session. We enjoyed every moment. The performers were great and diverse. The interactive parts were also so much fun. I especially had a blast! This is an awesome event.
Intimate theatre space with well stocked bar. Service was friendly and fast. The location is perfect with numerous places to dine prior/post show. There's a significant number of stairs, I didn't notice if there was a lift. Toilets are located outside the theatre itself. Parking is on street or you can utilise local centre parking - the first 2 hours are free.
What a great night! The atmosphere was awesome. Really enjoyed the show...Thanks Brisbaret!
If you're on the top levels, bring walking shoes for the stairs haha. In all seriousness, it's a really neat venue and offers up some decent views!
Wooden building - rooms with spaces for dance classes and art exhibitions. Some rooms look great and others not so much. Came here for a few of these events.
Best most talented group ever ever ever.... they should be on every single night!!!!!!! We loved every single moment of it
Saw a fantastic cabaret show: Babushka Regifted. Incredible performances and wonderful arrangements.
Saw a hilarious comedy show here recently, “Leotard”. Great ticketing. Great entertainment. Easy parking. Beautiful venue. Will be back soon!
Great refurbishment of the Ice Cream Factory and building up the surrounding area as a family friendly, date night area.
Great venue for independent artists and events.
