DO NOT BUILD WITH METRICON!!!nATTENTION to all existing and future Metricon customers and neighbours of Metricon customers!!n0 star, but I have to give at least 1 to post this review.nnMetricon is building for the neighbour just next to my house. Their workers hit my wall and made big cracks on 13 August 2024. My wall has moved inward towards my house and caused some structural issues.nnI sent multiple emails and calls Metricon many times to follow up on this issue, Metricon kept rolling the ball. I requested them to stop further building work around the area where it was hit. Metricon ignored my requests and kept working, which made repair work very difficult to be carried out.nnUntil today 04 October 2024, my wall has not yet been fixed. Metricon has kept working on their side by blocking the side where they hit. The more they work, the harder my repair work will be. I was totally stressed out.
This is warning to not build with Metricon please take the time to read this.nnSince our house has started building we haven’t received any updates from the site manager.nWe send out our private inspector out to the house to inspect for any defects and after the report is made we send it to the site manager and no response at all. Nothing has been done from the private inspectors report and was just being thrown out just a waste of our hard earned money Fast forward a to the last payment they need for the handover we had texted the site manager asking to see when we can send out the private inspector to check the house and got no response. We got an email saying that we need to pay the amount within 7 days otherwise we will be facing a penalty charge. We told the building co-ordinator that we are trying to get hold of the site manager and we aren’t able to. She then emails us saying that he’s calling us while we are at work. Then I call the site manager back and as a female he starts getting rude with me and says the house is ready and hangs up. My husband then calls him back and asks him why he spoke to me like that and ended up having an argument with him saying he won’t build the house anymore. My husband then replies saying we will be taking you to court, he then got his act together and started talking nicely. He organised our private inspector to meet him at the house himself at 7am. The inspector turns up and he’s no where to be found - ie: never turned up. The inspector inspected the house from the outside and told us the house is not ready at all and has sent us photos for proof. Since then we have been emailing them texting them but no response at all. The house was supposed to be given to us on the 24th of July according to the contract and it is currently the 9th of August.nnThis so called number one builders in Australia are failing to live up to their name. Again DO NOT BUILD WITH THEM PLEASE LOOK FOR ANOTHER BUILDER.
Metricon is building next door and has turned our property into their happy dumping ground. It seems as though Australia's self proclaimed number one builder has zero regard for the environment or for the community or for their corporate social responsibility. I've contacted their site supervisor Jake Smith but did not receive any response. I called their helpline and was told that I'd receive a call from Jake's manager Stuart but nothing so far. Absolutely appalling and shameless behaviour.
I would give Metricon 0 stars if possible. From the outset, the process has been a significant strain and an overwhelming burden. To keep this review concise and candid, I won't list the numerous errors. We moved into our home without any appliances, with all three toilets broken, and several other issues such as an improperly secured balcony, unfinished waterproofing, and no internal or external site clean-up. Floorboards and curtains were installed before many trades had finished, resulting in damage, the carpet was covered in paint, and there were holes in the walls.nDuring the building process Metricon never locked up the site, leaving thieves to steal and vandalise the property several times, delaying our move in date.nnOn a positive note, Adrian, the area manager, has been a saving grace, rectifying many of these issues since stepping in. Unfortunately, the rest of the team has been unresponsive, with emails going unanswered for months and a complete lack of responsibility.nnIf you are considering building with Metricon, I strongly recommend avoiding them at all costs.
Had a few mess around with our previous site manager but since Thomas Ould took over our build it all went smoothly. Always communicated with us and got the job done quick and at standard. Metricon should have more people like Tommy. Highly recommend and really appreciate Tommy’s help.
