Have visited this coffee shop many times. Have found it to be one of the better Merlo cafe's. Today our coffee's were a tad bitter or burnt unfortunately. The service is usually very fast even if they are flat out, which is usually the case. There is limited seating & the cafe is mainly takeaway Parking: Parking available in the shopping centre carpark undercover
This place is always busy yet the staff remain calm, collected and friendly. Never had a bad coffee from here either… I normally avoid chains, but this Merlo is the exception. There’s a fair few coffee options at Orion, but this place is the best!
1st time here i ordered coffee beans and got a free coffee which was made by a trainee. I thought oh well its a free coffee. Let me just say best dam coffee i have had in a long time been back a few times now and the folks here never fail to impress. Never change, love your work.
When I want a good cup of coffee, I always think of Merlo Coffee at Orion Springfield Lakes, a small coffee shop mostly for takeaway, they make really good coffee, consistent in quality every time. Their staff are excellent, friendly, prompt in their services and know how to make great coffee.
Wasn’t a fan of Merlo before I tried the Orion store. Now it’s my favourite! The staff there are always friendly & it’s they do free babychinos which is a bonus for my two little ones. Kid-friendliness: Free babyccino Dietary restrictions: Alternative milks
Another coffee chain that has gone the way of cheap soy milk and now only uses Alternative Soy milk which is absolutely putrid. The thing was soy milk is that not all are created equal. Bon Soy and Happy Happy Soy Boy are the only 2 soy milks that can be used without the bitter aftertaste resulting from badly trained baristas. Most baristas dont know how to heat soy milk properly so the two aforementioned soys still taste great even if the barista stuffs it up. Not so any other soy milk including the cheap & nasty Alternative soy milk! I was happy to pay extra for Bon Soy but won’t be back. I chucked today’s coffee in the bin after tasting.
Best Merlo by far!! We go here most days for our coffee. It's always super busy but the staff always stay calm, are so friendly and quick. The staff have become like friends to us, especially Donna. Her customer service is outstanding. She connects with people so well it would bring people back daily for sure Well done guys you're awesome...best coffee
Roasting profile is linear across all “bean flavours”. There is no such thing as a light/medium roast here, and any flavours or tasting profile, during cupping I.e “Delicate honey and blossom fragrance, sweet apricot and milk chocolate flavours” is non existent. Instead, the flavour smelt and tasted is of burnt, smoky/ashy ‘flavour’. I would love to know how the roasting process is done between each bean. Each bean I’ve seen is as dark as a piece of dark chocolate, with exactly the same smell/taste.
Merlo Orion Springfield central is probably the single greats place in the greater Ipswich area to get coffee. Friendly staff, great coffee and if you're into new experiences a new coffee bean each month to try. I've been going here for coffee for an insanse amount of years and the staff have always been amazing, friendly and overall just amazing at made a great cup of coffee.
