Great place to seat and enjoy a professionally made coffee while watching the hustle and bustle of QVM. Plenty of seating inside and out. Food is a bit pricey and can give it a miss. Plenty of retail products on sale . The working of the coffee machine is available to be seen on a screen which is super cool! Helpful staff members.
Merlo Coffee at Queen Victoria Markets was a godsend when the need for an amazing coffee was required. Staff was super friendly and engaging and the espresso was simply amazing. It was one of the best espresso places I visited. Highly recommended!
There are quite a few good coffee shops in Victoria Market. Merlo is probably the only one with an industrial scale roaster on-site. It was pretty cool to see the control board and all the equipment from the coffee shop. They also have monthly beans to choose from. The coffee is very well made. The fact that you can see how these beans are made let the experience become more authentic. You can also buy different kinds of beans from their counter. It feels more like a specialty coffee shop than the usual cafes.
Located at Shed F corner, Merlo Coffee offers a wide range of coffee to choose from. Open air seatings is available, great ambience with crowds all around. Banana cake was excellent. Highly recommended after a hard day of walking around the huge Queen Victoria market.
Delicious coffee and a fun atmosphere in a beautiful location at Queen Vic Markets. We were drawn in to the store upon seeing the beans being roasted and weren’t disappointed by the coffee!

Prompt service with great coffee. I'll always gravitate towards freshly roasted coffee, for good reason. You can't go wrong. Piccolo latte was good. Croissants don't disappoint, not the best I've had but very good. Overall a pleasant experience with a great setup with an massive coffee roasting machine in the building.
Highly recommended. We’ve been a regular Merlo fan for years, first in Brisbane and then in Melbourne. The cafe at Queen Vic is run by a great team - fun, friendly and professional. The coffee is the best in town!
I have been a loyal bean consumer of Merlo, they sell high quality coffee beans which are usually roasted on the day or the day before. Meaning they are so fresh that you shouldn't use them yet. They sell great coffee beans and a variety as well, the beans are also at a very reasonable price compared to other cafes and roasteries. Another reason to buy Merlo Coffee beans is that the beans stay fresh for a much longer period of time, after a month of storage they still produce a rich, consistent yet plentiful Crema. As a roastery I give them 5 stars as a cafe I give them 4.
Very knowledgeable about all products and amazing coffee. Thank you for your great customer service Han! Has been our favourite coffee spot in Melbourne for awhile! Update: Almost a year later and during these COVID times we haven't been able to get our favourite coffee due to the distance. Though now we've bought a 1KG bag of their expresso beans on their online store and not only is it fresh, but they mailed it out half an hour after we placed the order and we got it the next day! We are consistently so impressed by Merlo Coffee. Cannot wait until COVID is over and things get back to normal so we can enjoy it in their cafe as well!
