Very disappointed- the 1 bedroom suite was filthynComplained night before.nIt’s the following day, 3pm and I’m still waiting to be relocated to another room.nApparently they’ve gotta deep clean another room - ummm shouldn’t rooms be deep cleaned on a regular basis? I’ve been informed some of the furniture is also not up to scratch. Again… shouldn’t this be arranged before they book people in??nNever seen such appalling service is what is meant to luxury accommodation.nThere’s so much wrong with this place, I’ll let the pics do the rest of the talking.
Hubby and I aged in our 60’s recently stayed in a one bedroom suite for one night as we were attending a show at nearby Riverside Theatre. Location is brilliant, right on the river in the riverside precinct surrounded by many great eateries, the riverside theatre and the CommBank football stadium.nnCheck in staff were excellent. The Meriton Car Park however is a bit of a nightmare, with the entrance in a small lane way Diraballi Lane. This laneway was very difficult to find drove past it twice, mainly due to heavy building construction in the area and it’s accessed by a near vertical ramp & hard to reach boomgate button. Both these a big challenge in a small, low car. OnnThe apartment itself was “ok” but not wow, and trust me I know what I am talking about because I have stayed in many different Meriton properties but this was our first time at the Church St property. Slightly below par comparatively. Whilst our high floor request was delivered, located on level 36, we were hoping to get a river view, but the balcony view was facing south west, the majority of which consisted of construction zones. Not a big issue there though.nnBed was comfy. Our main criticism was the bathroom which was tiny and significantly smaller than any other Meriton property I have stayed in. The shower has major issues with the glass panel extending quite a long way making the walk-in entrance to the shower mighty narrow, Lucky we’re not big people. However the biggest problem with the shower was that the water didn’t drain away in the way it’s supposed to. When my quick shower was finished, there was still ankle deep water on the shower floor which didn’t drain away despite my attempts to help it to do so. The water was still there next morning and it’s not a great feeling stepping into a shower and you’re immediately in ankle deep water. This is a clear design fault. Also, a minor thing, I’d like to see Meriton provide shower caps. If you’re female, and 60+, you’d know the benefits of having a shower cap provided, and its absence was definitely felt.nnExcellent checkout and overall a good stay despite these few issues.
My favourite spot I have ever stayed in! Staff are amazing, so kind and helpful. Stored our bags to we could look around Parramatta and felt extremely safe even returning late after a concert. Only downside was the construction at the front of the hotel, but that is out of the hotels control. Room was extremely clean and luxurious and extremely affordable for what we got. Pool was so nice and some many options for restaurants. Will be back
Good hotel but it is parked over the back of the Park Royal and the Powerhouse building site. The rooms are fairly modern and in good condition. The suite is a good size however the view from this section anyway isn't great to say the least.
If you're considering staying here, please reconsider. Be aware that staying here may end up costing you a lot more than the quoted price.nnSeveral hours after leaving the hotel, I received a mysterious charge from this hotel for over $600 on my card. It turned out they claimed I had damaged their TV in my room and sent me a photo of an absolutely destroyed wall mounted TV set, the sort of damage you get from smashing it with a stick or something. It is my belief that the cleaners damaged the TV and attempted to pass the cost onto me as they didn't want to jeopardise their jobs.nnBe careful of the staff here, they won't hesitate to rip you off if they make a mistake and they know they can get away with it.
