I had a lovely stay at Mercure Hotel Pakenham. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent.nA big thank you to Caitie for her warm, friendly service — she truly made my stay extra special. Highly recommend!
Honestly, if I could give this hotel zero stars, I absolutely would. I made my booking back in early January for this weekend, yet when I arrived at the hotel I was casually informed that my booking had been cancelled and there were no rooms available. Imagine driving 3.5 hours only to be told the room you booked months in advance simply doesn’t exist anymore.nnThe night before arriving I personally spoke with an operator at the hotel to let them know I would be arriving a day late and that I would pay for the entire booking on arrival. This was acknowledged and confirmed with no issues. However, when I got there, the person at the check-in desk tried to claim that she had called me and spoken to me about payment that day. Not only were there no missed calls on my phone, but I absolutely did not speak to anyone that day because the arrangement had already been made the night before.nnBeing incorrectly accused and spoken to as though this situation was somehow my fault was completely unacceptable and some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Not once did anyone take responsibility or show any genuine effort to fix the situation. Instead, I was simply left standing there and forced to scramble to find last-minute accommodation elsewhere, with almost no time to organise anything.nnFor a hotel that is part of a large international chain, the level of disorganisation and incompetence here is honestly shocking. To make matters worse, I wasn’t the only one in my group having issues. Several others experienced problems with their bookings and rooms as well — including unclean rooms, poor housekeeping, and even a lack of booking confirmations to prove that rooms had been reserved in the first place.nnThe complete lack of accountability, organisation, and basic customer care was astounding. After this experience, I certainly won’t be recommending this Mercure — or any Mercure property — to anyone.nnDo better, Mercure Pakenham. This was an absolute disgrace.
Check in Easy,nEntrance, Foyer, Lift and Rooms very clean.nLate Check out 11amnAir conditioning remote/Only issues Thermostat should be closer to the living area and bed rather than by the door.nNo kitchenette lighting so main lights are required to be switched on.nNo microwavenLarge bathroom shower is a waste of space could of made a proper kitchenette with sink as the shower footprint is way too big.nExcellent shower head water pressure compared to the majority of hotels which use cheap water saving ones
I had a 1 night stay at this property and while it's a brand new modern building with very well designed rooms and friendly service; a few problems exist which mean I would not return.nFirstly I have to say the check in service and staff 1 person I encountered was fine and friendly; but the weather was windy and the building has some design flaw where some external cladding is vibrating or shuddering in the wind. Fortunately the wind dropped off by 8-9PM but if it had persisted I would likely have walked out and found another property as on the level 3 main road facing building it would have been impossible to sleep.nAlso in future if your on site restaurant is closed it would be best to inform guests in advance as this meant no on site restaurant was open at all.nFor a 4 star property the room and fit out was very good and I appreciated a suite upgrade.
When we arrived it was amazing really great smelt good looked really amazing. When we gon into our rooms its was picture perfect. We went for dinner took our card and on our return we couldn't enter our room. Called and got put through to after hours explained to Samantha lady that answered what the issue was she rang security couldn't get an answer she advised she will call us back.here she was ok felt dismissed as if its our fault we got locked out about 10min pass i called back she answered again this time very rude we cant get hold of security I am like what are we supposed to do we locked out i proceeded to ask if we done something incorrect she was like I dont know I am just the after hour service but rudely like its my fault she had to work. she was like we she cant do anything if security doesn't answer. So 20 min passed min you i have my son out side the door as well. Called in again not once did Samantha check up on us and tell us she is still trying to get hold of security. so another lady answered I cant recall her name but I think was Chantel. she understood my frustration as at that moment we were locked out 45min already she rang security and after about 7min got hold of them she said they will call back with an eta in 2min. 10min passed i Called back what is happening nope security hasn't called back after another like 5 to 10min got a call security is on their way after over an hour sitting outside. no one can explain why this has happened got a call the next day just to see what transpired and that was the end. if it wasn't for the way the lady spoke to me we would have been OK but its like she got annoyed. a wonderful place as long as you dont get locked out as security is also very wrong if you know you are on call then ensure you have your phone with you.
