Well located outside of the city centre. Friendly, helpful staff. We arrived a little earlier than the check in time & we were able to access the room straight away. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was really nice after a day of exploring, reception supplied towels for us to use. The buffet breakfast had plenty of variety. Lots of on site parking.
I was so excited to eat here again. The food was very fresh and tasty but not worth the amount they charged for it. The drinks are well priced considering the food isn't. The decor could do with a face lift. They have had the same decor for over a decade, even the same decor and furniture since when they used to be a vivid centre. A very nice place to hang out by the pool. The pool is beautiful
I'm not sure it's even worth reviewing this hotel as they certainly don't seem to care about the customer experience. However, in case anyone reads these things, I'll start with the positive - the beds were comfy and had clean linens. The hotel rooms are pretty run down and need a deep clean. The staff were uninterested. We booked a package that included breakfast and $25 towards dinner. We went to dinner, we're asked our room number. At the end of the night, my husband settled the bill but I noticed the dinner credit had not been taken off. When I questioned this, rather than a helpful response, the staff member told us that it was our fault as we should have charged the meal to the room as they don't deal with the dinner credits in the restaurant. At no point in check in, or in my booking confirmation details were we informed of this. Reluctantly, the server refunded the meal and charged our room, telling us it could take up to a week for us to receive the refund. Simply not good enough. The meal wasn't even that nice.nThe breakfast was poor quality, however, there was a choice of cooked and continental. Glad we didn't pay the full price for it - so not worth that!nSadly, for these very seasoned travellers, this was one of the poorest hotel experiences we've had. Not what we expected from a hotel brand like Mercure. Will be cancelling the membership.nTrain your staff in customer service, clean up your hotel, ensure better quality food.
We were due to stay just one night but then had to stay another night. The staff were really very helpful in making available another room immediately even though we'd already checked out. The hotel itself is nice enough but is ready for a refurb.. decent gym, pool looks good.
Covenienintly located about 15 minute walk to the town center.nArrived from the Ghan train station and it was raining. Change shift for the attendants and nobody offered to help us with our luggage, just pointed in the direction of our room. The manager helped us with our luggage and opened the front door.nThis resort has a nice swimming pool which I regretfully didn't try to enjoy, would have been a perfect match to cool off the heat.nHas an house restaurant which was a bit pricey, twice that to the eateries out in town if you dare to walk the heat or pay the minimal $11 taxi fair. Servers have a mixed service rating with a few not having any training nor experience.nThe room we had was spacious. We ask for one away from the pool to keep away from the crowd and the noise. Our carpeted floor wasn't vacuumed the duration of our 7-days stay.nThere is no drawer available for storing any wardrobe except one hanger closet.nThe shower head is still full of calcium deposit just like one of the reviewers mentioned and the vent collected dust. There's a particular spray of dirt on the wall that hasn't been cleaned for ages.nThe resort has a dity laundromat with working washing machines and dryers. You can also use the clothes hang dryline behind the laundry.nOther that that the attendants immediately responded to requests.
