First opened in 1983, Mellum Munchies has been a Hinterland favorite for 30 years.
We are a classic style Takeaway shop that cares about the food we make. We are about supporting other local small business and providing quality food. Mellum Munchies has a high standard of Food not seen by bigger food outlets.

Easily accessible lots of close parking. The food is really amazing and we have driven the 40 minutes from home just to eat fish and chips from there. You can eat in or take away. The plates are well presented although have unusual garnishes but it's very cute regardless. The staff are lovely and the food is always quick and hot. Definitely recommend

Love the food, the drink and the most importing in the service. with a lovely warm welcome makes you feel so comfortable eating your lunch and I highly recommend it for other tourist to come to this place and have a bit of a browse around the town

Stayed nearby while travelling interstate/volunteering at the zoo, and Mellum Munchies was not only the closest, but the best place to get food after a long day! Their burgers are massive, and generously filled - 100% recommend the Graceland chicken burger. Chips are generously portioned in a fish & chip shop fashion, with reasonable prices and a great retro decor- i love it! The only downside is that i can't take the Mellum Muchies store back home with me!

Stayed at the local motel. On the way to Townsville. Lovely owner and great service. Just a bit dusty and greasy all around the furniture and decorations and windows. Needs some tender love care. Or else hygienic disorder community won't come again as its so sticky table and sticky chair.
