The staff are wonderful, I am forever grateful to the nurses of ward 8 neurology, & ICU. I became extremely ill after my cervical spinal surgery and ended up in ICU with post surgical double pneumonia.nUnfortunately the food is actually so bad it made me physically sick, so I have been having to have mixed sandwiches for every meal.nIt is a shame when it is a wonderfully staffed and Private Hospital receiving $2,500 a day just for the bed.nOtherwise I would have given a 5 star review.nPlease thank the wonderful nurses & Drs on Ward 8, and also ICU. So friendly, helpful and caring.
It’s a shame that a private hospital, with a bill of $5500 per day ok I had private health insurance to cover it is so run down and in desperate need of an upgrade plus had to share a room. It looks stuck in the 70s. I’ve had better food at a public hospital and despite saying discharge is at 10am, I was asked if I could vacate the bed at 915am because they needed my bed. Obviously I agreed as I know what it’s like waiting for a bed but also I didn’t really want to be rushing when you’ve just had heart surgery. You need to improve your infrastructure and facilities. I had my tonsils out 2 years ago at St Vincent’s private. That place is a hotel. Own room, bigger bed and a 24/7 menu you can order from with great food choice. The dinner at Melbourne Private was inedible had to resort sandwich’s and bag of snacks my husband got me.nnI did give 3 stars though but for the staff. All the doctors and nurses were first class, very kind and attentive and went out of their way to ensure you were comfortable. So a big thank you to the staff who made my stay comfortable despite feeling like I was in a rural country public hospital. Thank you.
I'd call this place as joke but there's nothing funny about it.nnThe two stars are for the staff, god help them because management certainly won't.nnThey are the only redeeming quality this place has.nnKept waiting for the better part of 5 hours, no communication as to why there was a delay.nnBilling paper work says single room but they put you in a shared room.nnThey claim each room has a safe for personal belongings, this is a lie.nnPost op no proper food provided/set aside despite filling in the menu slip.nnLet's not forget they're billing the health fund 4.1k per night.nnI've had to order Uber eats just to get a feed after 23 hours of fasting because all they have is soggy funeral sandwiches from the fridge.nnAdmin not fit for purpose, they got my name wrong right off the bat despite info being provided by the surgeons office,.nnThen the nurses were asking me if I was in for an overnight stay or day surgery because apparently they weren't sure based off of the paperwork.nnNot enough heart or spo2 monitors so staff have to wake you up every few hours. Rest impossible.nnStained bed sheets, dirty shower/stained curtains and cracked drinking cups.nnI've stayed in cleaner motor inns.nnMy sympathies go out to anyone who has to stay here for more than one night.nnGo to st vincents private, this place is the hospital equivalent of a 2 star motel.
Superb professional engaging and caring staff from check in to the wonderful nurses and service at the Pharmacy at checkout. Diligent attention to detail and engaging conversational attention inspired confidence and comfort. Floor 8 Nurses were 5+
Had the day procedure done yesterday at Melbourne Private Hospital. The administration staff, nurses, doctors are so lovely and friendly. The whole process went through smoothly and made my day less anxious. The dinner provided was amazing as well.
