I think Ki Aikido gives very similar benefits to great meditative practices such as yoga. I’m more at peace with the world now and Ki practice has helped me cope with the death of a loved one. I also prefer the practicality from a self defence perspective. Aggressive martial arts have no appeal to me. I do not want to hurt people. Michael Sensei combines Eastern and Western ideas really well in his teaching and the classes are very well structured. I really enjoy the feeling of doing a technique well. Aikido is a good workout for someone like me, who comes from a pretty low fitness base. It is improving my balance and learning about mind & body gives me quiet confidence.

This has probably got to be one of the most welcoming Dojos i have ever been in. From the moment i met everyone at Ki Aikido Kai i was made welcome and found everyone to be extremely pleasant and friendly. Sensei Michael has such a wealth of knowledge regarding his art and the methods he uses to convey his teachings are amazing. Ki Aikido has taught me patience, harmony and to keep a clear head at all times. This has transposed itself across to my every day life and has had a drastic effect on my relationships with everyone in my life and has changed my outlook on everything. Keep up the great work!

After starting with Melbourne Ki Aikido Kai, I found myself much less stressed at work. I was sleeping more soundly and my back pain that I would suffer from several times per year completely disappeared. I would highly recommend this to help anyone, young or old lead a life of calmness, focus and happiness....D.Hughes, Marketing Consultant, Caroline Springs.

have wanted to do Aikido since I heard about it as a kid, but there was no Aikido dojo where I grew up. Then, when a friend recommended Ki Aikido and told me about its concepts of energy, centering, breathing and its application to daily life, I googled ‘Ki Aikido Melbourne’ and that’s how I got started. I like how I always leave the dojo feeling better than when I walked in. Geisner Sensei is not only an expert at Aikido and Mind & Body Unification, he is also a natural teacher and conveys techniques and concepts to anyone by breaking them up into small steps. His warm nature and gentle but firm style makes even an awkward beginner feel relaxed and at ease. The dojo has a really welcoming feel, and everyone is supported and encouraged to do the best they can for the level they are at.

I was an active student of Melbourne Ki Aikido Kai Dojo for about 3 years, from 2010. First of all, I'd describe this Dojo as "complete". Unlike many other dojos, we get to learn more than just techniques or application of Ki, we also learn about the principles, history and philosophy of Ki Aikido. Moreover, Ki Aikido teaches us to be calm, composed and relaxed in a fight, as well as how to deal with multiple attackers. In my personal experiences, this is very, VERY practical in any fight. Yes, I do get into fights in real life and Ki Aikido has made me a better fighter, both armed and empty handed. Although now I'm no longer an active member of the Dojo, I remain a faithful follower of Ki Aikido principles and a practitioner of its techniques (to those violent unfortunates who thought Ki Aikido was some form of weird Japanese dance).
