The best experience on my travel from brisbane to melbourne. Great huge airport.. its so organized that took my fears of getting lost. I just followed the sign and it took me directly where i can claim my bag. . Food like sandwiches are available inside the arrival area, in case your pick up is late and youre hungry. . The airport has a waiting area inside, where you can sit properly and stay warm. . Toilets are close to the waiting area, clean and high tech. I was amazed. . Water, soap and hand drier uses sensor... pick up cars can wait just accross the aifport. No more long walks . Literally just cross the pedestrian lane and get picked up.. overall, best airport experience for me.
Due to the Christmas season the terminal was extremely busy, however Virgin Australia staff make all the difference - with their heart felt service! They go above and beyond to bring the Christmas cheer during this hectic time! It is good to see Santa's workshop at the airport Well done everyone!
Virgin airport terminal was smooth for check in, bag drop and security checks. There are electronic booths for check in and many available bag drop counters as well - little to no wait is required. The security check area is shared between T4 and T3, and the gates are accessible by passengers of both terminals. Some screens will only show flights on a particular terminal, while others show flights for both - do make sure to check in detail. There are standing areas for charging devices and also water fountains and refill stations for bottles almost at every gate. That is very helpful! Our flight was unfortunately canceled after check in but thankfully Virgin air transferred us immediately to another flight within an hour’s time, and we didn’t need to call any hotline to get our flights changed. Our bag also was transferred smoothly. There is no food included on the flight but you can purchase refreshments from the air steward/stewardess. My only complaint for the airport is that the wifi didn’t work in the 3 hours we were waiting for our flight.
There's a new set up since we were here last. Give yourself extra time to get through. One of our bags was rescanned three times, and it's busy. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Sorry but that Silver experience sucked. Wrong gate and number wrong FOUR TIMES on the ticket txt & from staff. Walked between T3+ T4 three times at direction of ticket, Virgin staff & Supervisor. No flight number displayed at gate and PRIORITY check-in worthless this time as general moved faster. Staff lovely yet seem in the dark wit latest info Email coming
As far as airports go, this whole airport is pretty sweet. It's modern, ultra fast check-in, security has the modern scanners that don't require laptop removal etc. The whole place is fast and efficient. Easily accessible by both public and private transport/ car. The T3 terminal has pretty much everything you could need/ want food court style food, a pub, pharmacy, "shopping" stores as well.
Nice place ! Efficient, directions are given in a clear way. A bit busy but that's an airport so ... what else to expect ?
Chaotic, long queues for food that had run out. When it came it comprised beef burger sliders or creamy corn soup. Later, chicken curry soup was also served
T3 good, pleant of food and amenities. Airline lounge close to gates. Many places to sit with big windows to look out at airport activity.
Smells like vomit on the way to the gates. Full body scanners slow and the girl doing the scanning had an attitude.apparently you can stand up too straight? Otherwise as you'd expect for an airport. Person loading the trays was quick and efficient, place is clean and tidy. 5/5 for that.
