The reviews of this place speak for themselves. Horrible horrible horrible. Waited at counter for 20mins to place an order to be barked at "dine in or takeaway?!" We mistakenly said dine in. We were sternly told to take a seat as they have table service. Waited an extra 40 mins before going back to counter. By this stage, my 12mth old daughter was over it all, and we were all done with waiting. Out of sheer parental desperation I went to order a takeaway coffee to tide me over and luckily I had some fruit for my daughter. The coffee was horrid amd when I placed the order with eftpos card in hand I was told $5.00 I presented my card and the lady said "Don't you have cash?" I said no and was then told my coffee would be $5.50. When I questioned it she said she was going to give me a discount for cash blatent lie I had to ask for a Tax Receipt 3 times and was begrudgingly given it. All in all - reading other people's feedback I have no idea how this place is still open or why they are the only cafe there. Definitely won't ever go back.
Also one star as can't give 0! $14.50 for a toast not toasted cheese, ham and tomato sandwich. We were hungry and had a 6 month old baby, no time to shop around. $42 for two of the above mentioned 'sandwiches' and two milk shakes. I don't know what sort of message this sends visitors to Brisbane. Shocking. Avoid at all cost!
Understaffed, overpriced and false claims of accepting AMEX though there is a sign. Food was okay but the wait times make it unworthy to eat. Coffee was meh. I would not go back again unless the owner/cook fires his only staff and gets someone else. He was the one that greeted me and the other staff did not know how to behave at all. The only advantage they have is location and thus they are capitalising on it.
We were just wanting a couple of muffins and some takeaway coffees but the woman at the counter said to sit down for table service. We sat down and watched 5-6 other sets of people get takeaway coffees from the counter. Not sure why we were different? We ordered 3 coffees, 3 brownies and 1 piece of cake which all came to $51. The cake alone costing $13.50. We were horrified. The coffee was second rate which added to our displeasure. We decided after that to go into the city for lunch. Unimpressed at the ridiculous prices - we will never eat there again.
Waiting for our meals, 1 hour in at this point, so I guess it shouldn't be too much longer. I should have read the reviews before arriving, at least they are an entertaining distraction while waiting.
Coffee was too hot and tasted well below average but not the worst I've ever had, that title belongs to Hungry Jacks. Customer service? What customer service? One of the servers bumbed a cigarette from one of their customers. $19.50 for three coffees is a bit steep. Wouldn't even deliver the coffee to us, we had to pick it up from the counter. It's a great location so I'm not upset that I can't give it 0 / 5 because the location should bump it up to 1 / 5.
Over priced and underwhelming. $13.50 for a piece of cake & the coffee was below average. Kitchen was closed at 1:30pm when we arrived. It was very cold inside & no attempt made to warm the place up at all even though it was a cold, miserable day out. Unfortunately, despite the great location & lovely view, our experience was terrible & we won’t be returning.
Two stars as nice location. I got tea and toast. Tea was average, $4.50 for a tea bag in a metal pot with handle that gets too hot to hold. The fruit toast was good but overpriced at $6 a slice. Wanted me to pay cash even though over $10. I won't be back. Too many better options
$47 for two coffees, a milkshake and two slices of cake. There was conveniently no prices on the cakes in the cabinet and we did not expect to pay $14.50 for a small slice of cake. I rang back to complain the next day and the staff said they had new cakes and had not made the signs up yet. Judging by the multiple, terrible reviews here on Google I think it was more likely that this was deliberate. $5 is a little more than average for a coffee so we did not think that two cakes would cost us almost $30. We really couldn't afford that and I will complain to consumer affairs about a lack of signage. If all other items were on the menu why were the cake prices not on the menu or in the cake cabinet? They even have the food and drinks menu available to download online but the cakes are absent from this price list too.
A lovely location, the coffee and food were dull and expensive. Service was slow and polite. Would not go back.
