Mela used to be a regular place to eat for us a few years ago so it was nice to revisit after a long time. The place has had some renovation and looked good with a new bar area. The more formal section of the restaurant which used to be at the back is now sealed off. Whilst things have changed in the restaurant the food is still great. Tandoori chicken was melt in the mouth whilst the butter chicken was sweet and tasty. I had the non veg thali which offers a great selection of dishes to enjoy all of which were delicious. Mela has a great selection of Indian sweets that you can buy for $3 each or you can choose what you want in 500g/1kg boxes which works out cheaper. Parking in Northbridge is the usual pain but Mela is well worth a visit.
Obvious choice of restaurant for Indian food located in north bridge. Fine dining experience with lots of options, starters, main course. Parking can be a challenge therefore go before it gets busy or allow 10 min extra to find a good parking spot.
Nice food. Very fresh and served hot. Potato and Pea Samosa served with a sweet sauce. Lamb Vindaloo taste fresh and great. Not spicy enough for a Vindaloo though , could be spicier .Food: 5/5
I haven't been here for some years and, on returning, was pleased to see that the restaurant has been spruced up with a new floor, new tables and chairs, etc. It has a nice modern feel to it. Service was excellent and the improvement in the food was most impressive. I have had both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian thalis. Both versions had a variety of generous portions with garlic, bread, rice and a dessert. There is also an interesting street food section in the menu. The food was flavoursome and filling. I like the improvements made to this restaurant and look forward to a future visit. Also, it's open for lunch which many Indian restaurants are not.
Ordered Masala Dosa. 2.5/5. Dosa was decent. Sambhar all right. Didn't have any wow factor to it an wasn't really authentic. I've never had broccoli in sambhar before. The chutneys were decent. My issue was with pricing. This for $19? I have had far better dosas at much more reasonable prices in Perth. Madras Corner is much better in terms of taste and value for money! The pricing is ridiculous at Mela.
Hii my name is Teesu Rani I ordered food by door dash from mela restaurant and I gave call them personally plz don’t put too much paneer in saag but you can see
The Restaurant was empty.. Service was poor. We order Dahi Puri Not at all good Chicken Biryani was decent is taste not the quantity was not enough for two people. Chicken 65 was better in taste than the rest of the items.
It was not an indian restaurant but more of a sweet store. Because, my food had all the sweetness of the world. Yes, whatever I tried it was sweet. I order paneer makhani, it was super sweet, I could taste sugar in it. Then, in Chilli Cheese I couldn't find a single piece of cheese in it. It was paneer only, why don't they name it paneer chilli? And again, it was sweet, full of sweet chilli sauce. I couldn't think about ordering anything after it and take risk. I had better taste elsewhere.
One of the best tandoori chicken in Perth. Your naan basket is too good and kadhai paneer is next level. Thank you for serving such nice food.
Ordered masala dosa, sammbhar was plain dal with big carrots pieces, dosa filling with unflavored potatoes. Overall poor value for money and non authentic.Food: 1/5
