Haven't been to Max Brenner for some time because I've been seeking out my waffles elsewhere. My friend and I decided to pop in and share some waffles, we opted for the waffle celebration! Staff were very unhelpful. He didn't seem to understand what I was asking about the dish as I wanted to know if we could swap some things as we weren't keen on the banana and toffee. I also wasn't sure how big it was and wanted to make sure it was appropriate for us to share, he responded with "its enough". When the dish came out, my friend and I had no idea it was a birthday style waffle plate! It was very funny to pretend and people took photos of us, staff were lovely for this. I was very disappointed by the Belgium waffles, they were sickly sweet and dry as a bone. Would've been soo much better if they prepared them fresh as you can tell they've been sitting around all day. The marshmallow waffles was too sweet to even touch. Strawberry and milk chocolate was still sickly. Atmosphere was okay.
The tables was dirty , we call the waiter many times then she didn’t clean well . The food was good but l didn’t like 80s milk shake.
Took 30 mins for one flat white - one mocha - one iced coffee and 2 baby chino - not because there were lots of customers - on the contrary there was hardly anyone. Just a lack of urgency to clear tickets from the machine and any cute chick that came in distracted the two guys on the machine who both took it upon themselves to walk away mid making the order to chat them up. The Mocca sat for five minutes beside the machine before the flat white was made. Both delivered to the table then a further ten minutes before the baby chinos arrived even after we walked up when another cute girl distracted them to ask if they had accidentally been forgotten
Everything was nice hot chocolate could have done with a little bit more chocolate in it. Customer service was ok . Not as good as it used to be
Just can't get an order right, every delivery is incorrect. It is now at the point where if we are looking at delivery options and mention here everybody and the room says "DON'T DO IT". They have never been able to fix this issue in over 5-7 years, very strange. More bad experiences than good at this store.
Absolutely terrible experience. We were told there would be a wait which we had no problem with. We ordered 2 coffees and a cookie . There were 3 tables waiting on orders including ours and 3 male staff on. One staff member in the 40 minutes we waited changed 1 bin and then was on his mobile phone. A younger staff member was cleaning tables and the other staff member was in kitchen. Not 1 staff member went near the coffee machine and cookie only needed to come out of the cabinet and be put on a plate????? Didn't happen so we approached counter and asked for a refund. The guy on the phone said they were busy cleaning cause they were about to close. We questioned that 3 tables were still waiting for orders and he said they had to clean. We got a refund and we know another table were getting a refund too. The staff had no idea what they were doing. A whole heap of I'm assuming staff that weren't on duty came in to hang out and talk to staff that were on and went behind counter . Nobody wanted to actually do the orders for the waiting customers. It was just a joke. They turned away about 7 lots of customers after us saying they has sold out of everything and when we left we ran into some of those turned away customers at another dessert restaurant and they were told that that Max Brennars were out of cups. Just 3 staff members that didn't want to serve customers anymore. The management needs to have someone in charge that is customer and service driven. This place currently is an absolute joke. Very disappointing.
I came into Max Brenner at around 9:15pm last night Friday and saw their desserts cabinet completely packed up in boxes. When we approached the counter we were standing there waiting to be served for a while, with no acknowledgment from the man behind the counter, we were advised by the man that there would be about a 35 minute wait, which we were okay with. When we tried to order he told us that they were not serving any hot drinks or any food beside what was in the cabinet, which was packed up in boxes? While we were waiting for our food we saw the same man sat on his phone and dancing behind the counter, completely ignoring any new customers or making any food. He then disappeared out back and left a young girl to serve, bring the food over to the table and make the food, I am going to assume this girl was not a manager or anything. Overall, really poor experience in terms of service at Max Brenner, and just really bad for the other girl having to put up with her co-worker. Don’t know if i will not be returning.
Came here for the first time since the renovations to satisfy my chocolate lick craving, not an exaggeration waited exactly 25 minutes for my minuscule pot of chocolate. I know it’s only $3 so maybe i’m not worth the time of their day but how ridiculous to wait that long. Was contemplating jumping the counter to ladle myself some chocolate into a pot. Can smaller order not take priority over the hot chocolates, shakes, cakes and fondues? edit: After reading some other reviews it seems some people were notified about the wait times before ordering, I was just given a number after I paid and sat myself at a table. Staff member maybe spoke two words with me. Wouldn’t have order it if I knew it was going to wait 25 minutes. Service has just gone downhill.
May 16, 2023. 8:30pm I ordered 2 hot chocolates for me and my partner, the male staff member advised me the order would take about 20 minutes and I was fine with that but about 30 seconds after i sat down the female staff member brought out one of the hot chocolates that had been sitting on the bench for a while already cold, I questioned the lady to see if maybe she made a mistake but she assured me it was ours. She also said “oh sometimes thats how it is” The other hot chocolate came out about 15mins. It was not how we liked it. We’re not happy.
One star is generous for this establishment in Robina. On arrival there was a fly in the cake cabinet and when I advised the staff they shrugged and said they didn’t care. I asked for a crape for my daughter with no fruit and cream and when the order arrived it had fruit and cream in it. I advised the man I requested no fruit and he said that’s how it comes. Didn’t bother to tell me they are pre-made Then our crapes came out cold and taste like eating cardboard. I could not eat it. $80 for 3 crapes I would have expected a lot better than the rubbish we were served. The staff care for service was so below par. They presented food sloppy and chocolate running all over people’s crockery If I owned this business I would fire all staff or close my doors. Will never return
