Extremely disappointing experience at Marvo’s Fish and Chips The portion sizes were ridiculously small for the price—felt like I paid for a full meal and got a snack instead. To make matters worse, the lady behind the counter had a shockingly rude attitude. No smile, no courtesy, just a cold, dismissive demeanor that made the whole visit uncomfortable. Definitely won’t be back, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone expecting decent service or value for money.nnjust to clarify to the owner this is definitely the correct store i’m reviewing.
Wow, these guys make amazing chips! Their fish bites and the batter on them was awesome too. The pumpkin cakes, a nice change from a potato, are great. The potato cakes are unfortunately the frozen variety, and the dim sims were so drenched in soy sauce, it was a challenge to eat. Had to try and soak up some of the soy sauce first.n$40 got 3 fish bites, 4 dim sims, 3 potato cakes, a pumpkin cake, medium chips and 6 loukoumades, which I forgot to say, were delicious!
The best fish and chips restaurant by far! These guys truly went above and beyond—they even brought our food down to the sea! Everything was served hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The flake, in particular, is a must-try. Exceptional service and amazing food—highly recommended!
I rarely leave reviews, but I felt genuinely let down by my visit to Marvo’s Fish and Chips in Barwon Heads. I ordered $15 worth of chips and was honestly shocked at how little I got—it barely filled the bottom of the paper. For that price, I expected a generous portion, not something that looked like it belonged in a kids' meal. What really ruined the experience, though, was the attitude of the lady serving. She seemed annoyed from the moment we walked in—cold, dismissive, and like we were an inconvenience rather than customers. It completely soured what was supposed to be a casual, local treat. I left feeling ripped off and unwelcome. Definitely won’t be back.
Got Uber eats. Flake was excellent, fish burger very nice, decent sized scallops and good chips. Best fish and chips in Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads. Definitely don’t go to the Barwon Heads fish and chip shop on Hitchcock Ave. Mavros in Ocean Grove is worth the trip
