My house mate and I have bought with MGS Auctions for a few years now and my experiences have been mixed. I have been abuse and yelled at by an estate auction valuer/auctioneer for being late even though i explained to him I was sick and couldn't get there on time this happened twice full on screaming at me and i have been abuse by one of the front desk people screamed at now this is not how you treat clients and it not great customer service by any means and the way she sounds proud of herself when she bans you is insulting. Yes I have been late in paying but I have had reasons for that she refused to even entertain them I was greeted with disdain and talked to like a child yelled a, at the top of her voice and I have witnesses which is not on.
Great items to buy or bid for. Friendly and helpful staff ready to help and assist with loading purchased goods. A must see and checkout as there is lots on offer , take a look and be surprised
Great auction house with easy to navigate website and interbid server is the best one out there.
great bargains for buyers but some very low returns for some sellers. the bargains when no one bids for an item except one lone person at the end are insanely good value. staff are always helpful but be warned that as a buyer you must come well prepared to pick up what ever you buy promptly. they are very firm about prompt pick up of things sold on the day. I have purchased and sold things there - as a buyer I have done very well but as a seller I have not been happy
My family and I engaged MGS to a clean up my Dad's deceased estate property and b identify what could be sold and sell via auction at their rooms. We engaged MGS largely due to what we understood was their good reputation to sell deceased estate items. We did not have a positive experience with MGS at all. They may be great auctioneers to buy from – that's something that I can't comment on. What I can comment on is that - settling deceased estates and providing updates to the family, - complying with what their quote outlined; - actioning and responding to family contact emails/phonecalls; and - being transparent and timely in notifying the costs incurred to clean up the property in all these aspects SIGNIFICANT improvement is required. I found making a formal complaint to Consumer and Business Services to be somewhat effective in prompting MGS to take some action. Consumer and Business Services agreed that their inaction was a concern and a likely breach of the law. Despite my full transparency to MGS that if certain Estate matters were not actioned by a deadline then I would be inviting CBS to become involved and make a formal complaint against them, I don't actually think that MGS thought I would carry through with the complaint. In contacting CBS I received an aggressive email from the Managing Director who I understand is also the owner. He did not appreciate me making him and his staff accountable for what they said they would do, even though our expectations came from their written email quote. They told us to trust them but they repeatedly weren't transparent with us and gave us the run-around, and trust only comes with transparency. Needless to say that it was a very long 8 months in dealing with MGS and it just should not have been this difficult. If you are an Executor clearing a deceased estate then I hope and trust that there are other auctioneers in Adelaide who would give you responsive and quality advice and service and make your life easier as an Executor.
I recently won an auction and paid over $200 for my items collectible coins I receivedy items in the post. The packaging was just outrageous. Everything was put into an old sandwich snap lock bag.. NOT HAPPY
Purchased some barrels, staff were very helpful, prices were great parking good, if you're a fan of auctions this is a good place
I got life ban for not collecting a $69 item. Claimed they emailed me but I can't find it. I asked for proof of the emails but did not reply, just sent me a cancellation invoice with no comments. I was soon going to get alot of ex business lease gear auctioned through them. Looks like I'll go elsewhere. Over the years I have found the customers service is up and down here. Some friendly, others rude. Also be careful with what you purchase. They group junk with good stuff to get rid of it.
Good range of products available online auctions Just need better signage on office
When i visit MGS auctions i always so fun and exciting to get some items. Just check and bid it
