Don't get me wrong, the food is good, but when asked if we can use the numerous "outdoor" tables and chairs to eat our food it was refused, apparently due to the C demic and lack of staff. Get over it and let your customers eat in comfort. Whatever the media wanted you to be afraid of it's no longer relevant. I generally give good reviews but people can see from the poor attitude in your reply why you only got one star.
Review has been edited. read in full! Ordered over the phone. Specifically asked about the free butter chicken for orders over $60now $80. Was told that it was now only for orders over $80. Arrived to pay and the total came to $83. Guy who took payment said we hadn’t asked about the free butter chicken so we couldn’t get it and refused to acknowledge that we had in fact asked for it. Very disappointed! Came from Sydney. Won’t be eating here again! EDIT: Called by Sarika not even 20 minutes after leaving the above review, she was more than apologetic over the mixup and offered to deliver the butter chicken to our door. Her service is outstanding as is the food. Will definitely be eating here again.
Excellent choices of curries and sides; during our work visit we ordered from Masallas multiple times for dinner and lunch due to their wide selection of choices. From the naans to the curries the dishes were all delicious and of great size. In addition, the customer service was excellent and accommodating to our dietary requirements. And the Mango Lassi hit the spot! Thanks Vegetarian options: Wide variety of Veg options : Dietary restrictions: Accommodating
I’ve ordered from masallas every few months for the past couple of years… the food is amazing, I’m from Adelaide so I’ve had the pleasure of eating at many amazing Indian restaurants and Broken Hills Masallas is one of the best I’ve had! That’s amazing because they’re just a takeaway place, they are not a fancy restaurant but the food is restaurant qaulity. The only minor thing I have had a problem with is that the owner isn’t the most social person in the world lol.. you can tell her to her face you love her food and she runs an amazing clean business and she won’t even smile at you, she will probably say thank you quietly before walking away. People on here seem to interpret this as rudeness but she’s not rude, I just think she’s not a social person so her customer service isn’t as good as her employees. I had a friend who worked for masallas and they always told me how great she is as a boss. She would even drive her staff home if they didn’t have their license. 5/5 love this place! Extremely clean, just don’t expect a conversation or smile from the boss lol you won’t get it. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. I’m not a vegetarian but they have amazing lentil curries. Kid-friendliness: If your kids like good Indian food, they’ll love it. They have plenty of options that don’t contain any chilli. Parking: Plenty of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: From memory, it’s a flat surface so wheelchairs can enter you get served outside now because of Covid so wheelchairs can definitely order Dietary restrictions: They have a large menu and I know they’ll try to cater to you if you need them to.
Had takeaway food from here. Ordered home style beef curry and some garlic naan bread. Curry was tasteless and naan bread was hard.
Ordered take out - chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Chicken was ok and naan was soft. Being only Indian restaurant in BH, I have nothing to complain.
Friendly staff, prompt service. The stuffed potato was very bland, the naan bread was chewy as if it had been reheated, the mango lassi was rather dull, the only saving grace was the code red lamb which was quite spicy and the meat well cooked.
Since covid no longer dine in. We had takeaway and I tell you there are few restaurants that can challenge this place for great food. It is first class.
Ordered a sneaky take away. Yummy Saag Paneer, tasted beautifully authentic. Will be going back
I am so happy to see Indian Restaurant over here. I was so hungry and ordered steamed rice with Home Style Chicken Curry . It was so delicious. I loved it. Next day my wife ordered Chole Bhature, i am sorry to say but curry was so salty, can’t eat at all. Thank you for your service
