A spacious park with children’s playground, basketball and tennis court, cricket ground, tap water and toilet facilities. Looks well maintained. Perfect for outdoor gathering and picnics.
Good playground for little kids with in ground mini trampolines, swings and one of those swirly wirly things kids like to sit on that go round and round and honestly make me feel like puking just to look at. It looses a star because the toilets are really far from the playground well not that far but far enough to be be annoying, and it's a walk to a coffee. But a nice park in most ways. Cricket nets, an oval, a running/walking track - good open space for dog walking.
Nice park Toilets okay, not flash. Good play areas for kids. Tennis courts to hire online. Plenty of room to run around and exercise equipment for most age groups.
Probably the most beautiful park in the area, so green and clean. Fun children's playground with a bbq area. Basketball, tennis and netball courts. A dog park and fitness area with a pathway all around the park to do your jogging or speed walking. New grandstand to watch the cricket and footy games. Zeus Academy and the Tennis club are situated within the park grounds. Beautifully landscaped and well maintained.Love my neighborhood
Thoroughly enjoy visiting Marrickville Park, I always enjoy the luscious green oval, where we can kick the footy. Or we'll take the kids to the beautifully green grass tennis courts where we can try our hand at beating the kids at a game or two. We're usually left bumbed after the children kick our arses.
HISTORY In 1870s 1880s Marrickville's clay soil was being used in brick production. Marrickville park was built on the site of the former brick pit owned by William Shortish. Between 1842- 1902 was know as Miller's Tip until it was gazetted as a public park in 1908. The original grandstand which was demolished in 1986 local historians recorded that many bricks bore the Porter mark which was another local brick pit. Marrickville park held a cricket match on Livingston Oval on it's official opening day in September 1910. Local recruited WWII soldiers used the oval for drills, during the war American service personnel played baseball. This park was nice to walk through with its unique war memorial, walk of sports fame plaques around the cricket field, toilets, play area, batting practice cages, tennis/ basketball courts, lawn tennis courts and bird statues in a garden.
Playground, seats, oval, and some barely functional toilets. Locals tell me there's good Pokemon to be caught, so I guess it's got everything you need. Restrooms: There are toilets and when I visited there was also toilet paper.
Lush green, tranquil, cricket pitch, ground and nets. Tennis and basketball courts, jogging track and swing sets. What more could you need. The place to go play or picnic.
Lovely place to walk dogs and take kids for the playground Playground: Mesh ropes and slide, in-ground trambopolines, and spinny-go-rounds
Beautiful and amazing Park
