It's great to see an old driving theatre being slowly restored by some dedicated families. My family had a great night watching a couple of children's movies and camping out the night in our roof top tents. A great experience!The toilets were clean and open all night. The diner is great. The only thing is that there should be a greater variety of sizes of popcorn. The food and drink in the diner were very reasonable in priced. I would definitely be a regular customer to the drive-ins. My children absolutely loved it! Well, so did my wife and I!
Definitely a place to go to and overnight for anyone travelling. $14 per person 2 films worth it and great tucker
Fantastic old school drive in. Highly recommend, if in the area to come and watch a couple movies, plenty of space, a great kiosk for some food, drinks and snacks. Prices for admission and food are definitely good when compared to a cinema. The staff are friendly and helpful and facilities clean. You can camp here when open aswell. Sadly these old school drive-ins are a dieing breed, support this fantastic place and help keep it alive for generations to come.

We had a great time at the Mareeba Drive-In screening of A Quiet Place 1 & 2. No byo food and for good reason, the canteen sells all kinds of delicious junk food at cheap prices! We stuffed ourselves for under $20. I think we got lucky our movies were minimal dialogue and subtitles in parts of the movie containing sign because the audio wasn’t the best. Loved that we were able to camp the night, facilities are pretty run down but that’s what makes it so nostalgic!
Have not been to a drive-in for a long time. It was like going back in time. There are even speakers to hang on your car window or you can tune your car radio in. The staff were so lovely and helpful. I would highly recommend this experience if you want to re-live your youth or just want to experience something different.
Watch movies AND camp over for the night under the stars? Pets allowed! Playground for the kids! Good canteen with monster "Die hard" burgers! But please toast the cheeseburger buns and add another melty cheese We both enjoyed the experience and we will do it again! Thank you for making this available!
We loved the Mareeba Drive-In. They are always showing the most recent movies. The cafe has delicious food and so many options. You can even camp there for the night which is really nice is you’re travelling through.
Great value, friendly staff and surprisingly good food. Best fish burger I have had in years. A great night out!
Had a great night, watching "Fast & Furious 9" & "Old". Thank god that they still have some working speakers that you can hang on your window!! The brand new car i rented, i couldn't tune into their FM channel as it has pre-set stations & no way to manually tune it!! . Still, having the old speaker took us back to the "good ol days". The food at the cafe is cooked,as ordered. No pre-cooked, baymarie rubbish here! My dim sims were perfect & the chips were the best i've had on our trip up here in Cairns. You can even camp the night & bring your dog as well. A night spent at the M D-I is a night of nostalgia & one you won't forget!! Loved every minute!!!
