My daughter has been participating in the after school lessons on Wednesdays at Long Reef. She has loved every second of it and I cannot rate Manly Surf School highly enough. The conditions have sometimes been challenging but this is all part of surfing. The instructors number one priority is the kids safety and I love that they sit them on the sand and educate them about rips etc first. My daughter's confidence in the water has grown so much and Wednesday is her favourite day of the week. She always has a huge smile on her face when we're driving home. Special shout out to Ricardo who does an amazing job of teaching them about the ocean, being ever so patient with them, keeping them safe and always picking out the best waves to push them into!
We had a great experience at Manly Surf School. Staff was great and very informative. This was our first time for our 8 years old daughter to learn surfing. Our instructor Innes was amazing, Lara enjoyed it so much, and she is looking forward to have more classes at Manly Surf School
Beautiful beach! My daughter and her friends are very like here! Whether it's sunny or rainy, the teachers are just as serious and responsible and reassuring Kids have classes, and adults can walk or lie on the beach
Fantastic experience as a first surf lesson. Lots of help and support in and out of the water from coaches, especially leader Kelly. All four of us just about managed to stand up a few times by the end!
Had so much fun at my first surfing lesson with these guys in a group of 21 people. They are very dedicated, helpful and fun. They explain a lot of the basics and then get you have your go in the white water. Fun way to learn and definitely made me want more. Thanks guys! I'll sleep very well tonight
My friend and I had such an amazing experience at Manly Surf School! All the instructors were really kind and helpful. A special shoutout to Zoe, who gave me great pointers and was always looking out for me! Will definitely come back for another session!
I took 2 1:1 lessons from Nick and Max - both were fantastic and really took the time to customize the lesson to my ability. I leveled up quickly and improved a lot. Learned a lot both sessions. Highly recommend for beginner surfers trying to move to the next level.
Unfortunately, I cannot share the reviews of others: The group lessons were attended by +15 beginners, with only two instructors not really engaging with everybody in the water: How can they? It was almost dangerous to get on the board and up as there were way too many people at one spot. The water was admittedly pretty choppy, so only assigning two instructors for such a large group is simply unacceptable. Who can steer as a beginner? Nobody does. Charging $75 for 1.5 hrs for something like that is simply outrageous.
Max was the best instructor I could ever ask for as a complete beginner to surfing. He was generous and very skillful at giving out instructions. Huge thank you to Max for making my first surfing experience such a memorable one!
