It was 4 hours of total time from city, walking to the waterfall and return to city on a nice beautiful Sunday. A bit muddy from time to time as it was a day after the rain but it was rewarded by strong cool waterfall sound. We started the walk at the nice and scray walk over the dam and prob it was not a shortcut to the waterfall. It took 2.5 hours including two break time of 15 minutes each. 172x from the city to near the entrance, then about 20 minutes of walk along the residence of Balgowlah. many cars came to the parking lot, picnic area with parking next to the parking machine. Went out to the Wakehurst parkway side to get to 141 bus. luckily the bis was operating on Sunday afternoon. a bit dangerous 200 m walk to the bus stop, so be careful..the circuit joins the biking trail in the middle then branch back to the bushwalk trail before the waterfall. Kids could find some dragonflies and tadpoles, even some baby ferns. a lovely place to bushwalk on a bright sunny weather. cool breeze all along in September. Dog-friendliness: I heard dogs are now allowed but there were many dogs on leash. the walk over the dam you may have to carry scared dogs. Picnic area: not many but several benches and tables I have seen. many kids noise was pleasant and up healing.
Beautiful quite walk around manly dam waters... takes about 1.5 to 2 hrs for 8ish km. Little waterfalls, wildlife to see... BBQ spots and plenty of parking available, boat ramp and fishing too. Great little place to enjoy your weekend with friends and family
Amazingly, there’s a few routes you can do with dogs. Really stunning and refreshing.
Wonderful 4hour walk with stops. Up and down rocky not for unfit.
Living in Balgowlah, the walk to Manly dam is short enough and long enough to feel like you have had a good amount of fresh air without taking too long. And if you have some time, well a swim, BBQ or a longer run/walk all the way round will ensure you have a decent night's sleep.
Got a surprise to find out just how terrific this place is on a beautiful Sydney day! Swimming, fishing, BBQ's, playgrounds, bush walking, water skiing, paddle boarding - so many fun and free outdoor activities to be done here. Just have to pay for parking. They do ask that you don't feed to ducks, especially bread which makes them sick.
One of my favourite walking tracks. Lots of different paths to explore, some nice streams and waterfalls. You can spot some wallabies and lace monitors if you're lucky.
Excellent place for bushwalking. 7.8km around 2.5hours walking with cascades, rocks and falls.
A hidden Northern Beaches gem! It takes about 3 hours to walk around Manly Reservoir, but it's worth the effort.
Great place to have a barbie and cook some snags.
