We walked 5km there and back so expectations were high. Blown away actually. Informal, friendly atmosphere with personal service. We both had one of their curries. Fresh and tasty as. The wine list was also excellent, enjoying the local, unoaked Chardonnay. Highly recommended.

The mangawhai tavern has gone through a face-lift in the last few years and has benefitted tremendously from it. It has been a venue for music for as long as I can remember and continues to have great bands performing. The food is decent but the highlight is to sit outside and enjoy the views over the estuary.
Excellent place for a drink and lunch. Excellent menu. Friendly atmosphere and staff. Will be back
Great meal and choice of beer. Lots of seating and although some of the food was not available as it was a long weekend they had plenty of delicious food on the menu. Magical view. Friendly staff.
Very poor attitude at this pub. Didnt eat there and have heard it's not bad food but, what a bad attitude and vibe in this place. Very unwelcome.
Nice bar and restaurant, that's serves nice affordable meals. Has indoor/outdoor option, with good view of inner harbour. Also has great live entertainment outside in the garden bar, through the summer! Also has TAB.
