I think the "most Italian" place you will be able to find in East Auckland. Very close to the beach, low-key simple exactly how Italian suppose to be honest good restaurant. Portions are big, we all couldn't even finish our meals. Prices very reasonable for the location. Great wine. Better to make a booking.
A busy little place, especially with a constant stream of people picking up pizzas before the rugby & league games. Pretty standard choices of Italian food, lots of pizza options. Chef was accommodating with working around an allergy. Unfortunately too many tables squashed inside & out means you feel you have to be on guard in case people bump into you.
Thoroughlyejoyed my meal. Pizzas came in 2 sizes snack and regular. Really good base with generous toppings. The pasta dishes were very filling packed full of flavour. Small restaurant with big personality.
I like this place. The staff are friendly, the portions very generous, and the drinks are affordable. My only quibble is that for the price point I would expect traditional ingredirients e.g pancetta and not bacon, prosciutto and not ham, especially with dishes that have the ingredient in the name, but use a substitute. I think the pizzaiolo needs to step up a bit with regards to the base and the quality of the toppings as well. I wouldn’t say it was authentic, or worth the price point. That said, I enjoyed the staff, food and ambience of this place, I just reckon this is one area for improvement. I know the cuisine well - my partner is Italian, I speak Italian, I regularly dine at the best Italian place in Wellington and I toured Italy for a month, so I’m not talking out my butt here. Some big pluses and minuses.
Got recommendations to go here for a birthday dinner. Booked early enough, sat outside. Saw many passing doggos, always a great view. Had the lasagna and garlic pizza bread, my goodness it was a big portion! It was great!!! So delicious.
We went here as a group of four. I like the small feel of the place but we were so crammed in the corner of the restaurant that we all had to stand up if anyone needed to get up and leave the table. It was busy and the service was a bit slow but once we ordered our food came out quickly. We ordered two entrees and three pizzas. The pizzas were good but nothing special. The menu said the calamari had lemon squeezed over it but it was so sour, and I didn’t enjoy it. The scallops were my favourite and I would visit again jsut for these! The sauce was 10/10
Very pleasant. Great taste and pizza selection. Good service and prices. It hit the spot! Place is well known, popular and has been for quite some time - local friend who took me there told me. Really worth visiting!
Authentic Italian Food Place with delicious food. Highly recommend the pizza with blue cheese. Tiramisu is to die for
Had the most amazing pasta here, even my partner agreed that this was the best and that's quite high praise from him : Excellent service and delicious food!!
