3.5/5 We had a good time at Mamma Barone, everything was great except for the service. The ambience is cosy, homely, and the food is amazing. We love the arancini, pasta and the gnocchi. Probably the best gnocchi we’ve ever had! We also love rich and creamy tiramisu. The pizzas are okay. Service needs to be improved.
What a lovely way to relax at the end of a busy day. One of our favorites and as usual the food was perfect. Best ever arancini! The staff are amazing and so friendly. Always a pleasure to see Fred - no matter how busy he is he always has time for a chat and a laugh. Great venue, great food with great friends - couldn’t ask for more!
I know I say this will all the places I try, but this was so delicious! Everything was on point. Recommend the baby octopus, calzone #2, Penne Romana, even the garlic bread was delicious, crispy on the outside, soft and buttery, with a flutter of cheese.. The desserts were also great, we had the baked ricotta cheese cake and tiramisu. Only critique was the tiramisu didn't have enough sponge to Mascarpone as they used a glass with a smaller base to the rim, but still great. Can't wait to come again soon!
Rudest owner/manager I gave this place 2 stars one for the lovely young waitress and the waiter who was also very pleasant. Unfortunately the owner/ manager is under some sort of illusion that his food is that great that he’s earned the right to be disgustingly and needlessly rude to customers. Food was good but certainly not the most memorable Italian food I’ve had. I won’t be back nor would I recommend this place to anyone!
RUDE RUDE RUDE OWNER!!!! 4 years ago i rated this place 5 star however after our experience last Saturday night i would not ever! ever recommend nor come to this place. Me and my partner are from mortdale so we are local and few visits here we were disappointed because the food that we normally ordered were not the same but we didnt tell anyone or edit my review. So Saturday night we had another go and we were happy and enjoyed our meal so my partner told the owner that we had a really good meal tonight and it was like before and told him because few visit was not the same it wasnt good, so he complimented him for his food that night. But he couldn't take the criticism and told my partner that he has never had a problem before in a rude way. Now that you are not byo and You! owner coudnt take criticism should change how you treat your customer. We wont come back again.

Great authentic Italian food.
EXTREMELY RUDE OWNER/manager ! Waited for take a way pizza for over an hour. Just wish they told us the waiting time before taking order so we would not have to listen to this rude person manager. Don’t think we will be back. There are so many nice pizza places around who appreciate every customer.
4/5 food 3.5/5 price 3/5 ambience 2/5 service Food was really nice especially the pastas gnocchi royale & spaghetti carbonara. Pizzas were okay. Service must improve otherwise the experience will be ruined. A smile can go a long way but the host was having none of it.
Great food, great service always. Pizza is amazing. Very authentic Italian feel.
