Malthouse Theatre is contemporary, boundary-pushing theatre.

We collaborate with local and international artists to create work that puts provocative, entertaining and authentic human experiences on stage. We champion artistic and cultural diversity; we advocate for alternative points of view. We are the voice of the other.

The theatre we produce explores Melbourne and Australia, personally, socially and politically. We cultivate Australian talent and curate irreverent, courageous theatrical experiences from around the globe to captivate audiences. We believe theatre can be—and should be—an agent of change.

The Malthouse Theatre is one of my favourite venues to visit. The set-up is great. During the summer season & in winter when not raining, they have an outdoor area whereby events are held & giving you the opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous weather in Spring & Summer whilst having drinks/food. Malthouse also has a dining area inside the venue.nnI really love this place. Loving the quaint, red brick walls & outdoor space to have drinks, dining & watching an outdoor show or indoor if that is your preference. A definite must to visit.
Lovely heritage-listed, red brick, theatrical venue. Comprising of 3 seperate theatres with varying capacities from 500 seats over multiple levels to a intimate 100 seat black box room.nDistinctive 1st floor RED toilets with ample facilities and an accessible downstairs toilet and a bar, cafe and relaxing outdoor seating area. Showcasing local theatre, comedy and music performances.

Completely unimpressed so far and I'm now dreading what will happen when we arrive here for a show. I've booked tickets online maybe?.nWhen I tried to print the tickets, the webpage said it wouldn't post them to me what?!. So I was forced to select the 'keep at the box office' option as it was the only way to proceed with the order. The payment still hasn't been fully processed days later, and I haven't received a SINGLE piece of communication from them. Not an email confirming the account I was forced to make to get the tickets VERY bad form these days, not an email confirming my ticket order, or a receipt. Nothing but crickets.nOh well, I guess I'll just have to travel all the way into Melbourne, and find out if I have tickets at all, or if they've just fleeced me of over $200.nAutomatically adding on a donation of $12 for themselves to the transaction is so rude and underhanded it made me laugh out loud... And remove it.nI hope the show is good, if we get in, but I don't think I'll try this unprofessional shambles again. What an embarrassment during an international comedy festival.
Loved the MalthousenTook grandsons to see a a kid's comedy show Signor Baffo.nThey loved it so did the parents.Was very funny and had all laughing.nSome of the children got to go on the stage andnparticipate in the show.nThis show on until 19th April.nWell worth attending.
