It's one of the top notch Indian restaurants in sydney, a must visit place to feel authentic south Indian taste. I order Masala dose Garlic n Pepper soup The taste of the soup is awesome and pepper spicy and garlic taste I can really feel. It's a great place to dine in with family as the atmosphere is so good. Service is nice, they are very polite. The price is decent compared to the Harris park Indian restaurants and it's worth it to pay. It opens at 12pm, I visited this place at 1pm. There is a decent crowd in the restaurant.
Was excited to visit based on the reviews - while the experience certainly wasn’t bad, it lacked some finer details which made us feel there was nothing particularly enjoyable about the evening. The service was great - friendly and efficient. We opted for the vegetarian $65pp bottomless feast, the bottomless aspect was great, no complaints. Unfortunately we weren’t told/there was no menu on the vegetarian alternative of the feast, we assumed it was similar to the meat version but just with vegetarian replacements. Food overall was nice, particularly the veggie ball, but otherwise nothing special worth mentioning. As the food came out, we realised the dishes were actually differently to the main menu. Three of the dishes had the same tomato-based sauce so lacked variety, portions were small to start and a big bowl of rice and chickpea curry at the end to fill you up. It just didn’t feel like I was getting much for the $65. Perhaps meat and a la carte is the way to go?
Wow, the flavours of every dish are just out of this world! Works great as takeaway, but do yourself a favour and have a meal there dinning in. The staff are awesome and attentive, the drinks are great and cold, and they do BYO with a service fee. Highly recommend, it is our new favourite and we can’t wait to come back!Recommended dishesRailway Chicken, Chicken Chettinad
Great setup. Had a very fine dining feel for a curry house. The vegetable samosas were basically a French onion soup pastry - rather disappointing - the garlic and cheese naan though needing more garlic for my own palate made up for it, and the fish curry - ling in this case - was excellent. I also grabbed a beef vindaloo takeaway to have tonight, so I can check out how they do on the heat factor. For the record, service was impeccable. Happy to return for that alone - will just pick a different starter!
We visited during our recent trip to Sydney. Saw the reviews online and decided to give it try. So we ordered lamb rogan josh ,chicken chittnad with roti’s and rice. The lamb on bone was cooked perfectly but lack the flavours. Chicken chittnad was over cooked and was very chewy. The place is very pricey compared to portion size and taste. Cucumber salad had no cucumber inside and portion size was a joke.
Just so good. Nice venue, friendly staff & incredible food. Had the Kerala fried chicken, some basmati, naans, lamb verutha, Goan fish curry, dal makhani & chicken do-piaza. Our favourite was either the dal, Kerala fried chicken or lamb verutha. The level of chilli is quite low even in the “hottest” dishes so I think that’s been changed to non-Indian taste.
Nice food and customer service. I ordered the vegetable curry with roti, which didn't taste spicy at all so I'm assuming the recipe has been adjusted to suit the Aussie, but I still loved it very much! Will recommend this restaurant to my friends and come back again.
Service is awesome.! Even though the name is Malabar, it is sad that the cuisine is not exactly Malabari one.. it is more inclined towards Madras or Mysore Cuisine..! Though there are some Goan dishes in their menu. ‘Madras Thaali non veg + mini Masala Dosa and A Bangalore Masala Dosa. We loved the food. Bangalore Masala Dosa lacked that typical spiciness of the ‘podi’ but I think they are catering the needs of their European Customers, and they have a lot of them. Over all good experience.
The best Indian food ever, The staff members are terrific. I've been here a few times over the years, and it only gets better and better.Food: 5/5
The best, creamiest chicken curry I've ever had. Food was simply incredible. Staff and atmosphere were lovely. An absolute must to try!!!
