We had a fantastic stay here! We stayed in #2 with the outdoor baths and they were a big highlight. The location is stunning and having an outdoor bath with wine in the NZ bush was something to remember. The cabin itself was clean, basic, and warm enough not hot during our midwinter stay.
Most amazing accommodation we stayed in in NZ. Such pretty scenery and stylish lodges. Cosy common area including fireplace and neat kitchen with utensils and cookware. Good hot showers. I can't find a fault really. Met some locals who were great for a yarn and gave us some tasty venison sausage. Also cheap.Rooms: 5/5
It is a lodge in the middle of nowhere literally. There's nothing at least in range of 80Km. The stay is a unique experience. They are huts in a bush. Hut was clean. Facilities are shared kitchen, bathroom No mobile coverage there there is wifi though
Cute little shale. On my way to Queenstown. 5mins drive to Blue Pools. Linen, bed and room are clean but kitchen, communal area, especially toilet and shower need upgrade. Doesn't worth $86 per person per night. Nearby activities: Nice walk to Blue Pools.
Makarora is such an amazing place. The views are breathtaking and the staff are kind and helpful. There is no wifi at the cabins and some if the beds are very uncomfortable. Also there are so many sandflies. There is nothing there though. Wanaka is like an hour away.Rooms: 3/5
Leaving this review as I stay here, found a cumstain on the sheets, blood on the other sheets. Dirty as hell, not a single thing is clean nor is it useable. Stove is old and clearly isn’t cleaned at all, lodge REEKS of terrible smell, water is not even trusted, tissues are not even offered in the lodge, and it is full of random bugs. DO NOT STAY HERE, IT IS NOT WORTH YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT ALL. STAY IN YOUR CAR IF IT’S BETTER FOR YOU
Stopped in for breakfast and was served by Lilly, what a wonderful experience, so polite, helpful and a true credit to the service industry. Thank you for the lovely toasties and English breakfast tea 5 Stars Service: 5/5
We recently stayed here on a cold June night after driving past some dicey freedom camping spots, quickly running out of daylight to drive further. The owner saw us as we pulled up and set us up after hours with a cute little spot to plug our campervan in and a warm fire in the shared kitchen. The price for a powered site was great, and owner was super accommodating, the kitchen area comfortable and warm and the showers hot with great pressure. This isn’t the most “luxurious” place we stayed, but the character and charm made it our favourite by far. Would definitely come back in the future.
Very nice campgrounds located close to some great tramping. Blue pools were cold but beautiful. Amazing cafe Country Cafe nearby; The food was fresh, delicious, and well presented. The staff were kind and generous. 10/10 for a cafe.
What a pleasant place! Small and old fashioned. Cabins are well separated and private, bed was super comfortable. Couldn't ask for more, wish we stayed longer.Rooms: 5/5
