This apartment-hotel is in a very nice area of Adelaide. A short distance away from the CBD, yet far enough from it to enjoy a more suburban feel. You will find transport, cafes, restaurants, park and shops only a few minutes walk away.nThe building itself is quite old and in parts a bit run down. There is a garage downstairs where you can park your car for an extra charge. $30 a day.nStaff was nice, especially Jan accommodation cleaner who helped us carry suitcases upstairs.nThere is no lift in these buildings and it is quite hard to carry heavy suitcases up to the top floor. There is also no concierge to help. Thankfully Jan helped us out.nWhere you rent in the Old Lions apartment will determine whether you get a nice place or not.nWe were originally put into the building called the Annex, to the very back of the complex. Our downstairs 1 bed was dark and dingy with mismatched, old and grubby furniture. For example there was a large, glass dining table in the bedroom. The kitchen was very old and drab and not stocked well. Cooking utensilsnWe only stayed one night in this room as construction at the building next door woke us at 6.30 AM. Hammering, drilling etc...nWe asked to switch and the staff was very accommodating.nNext we stayed in the Barton building to the front. This 3 bed appointment was much nicer, brighter and obviously larger. The furniture made more sense too. Unfortunately every room is carpeted and the carpet could do with a clean, or better even be replaced with wood or tiles for better hygiene.nThe 3 bedroom apartment was at the top floor which made maneuvering the suitcases up and down quite difficult.nOverall a pleasant enough stay in a nice area. Just make sure you get a good apartment.
Love this place. Parking on site for $15 p night, clean rooms- always, lovely grkunds, excellent amenities in the rooms such as bathtubs stove and oven, full sized fridge, washer and dryer, blackout curtains. Beds are comfy , sheets are soft, snd shower pressure is lovely!
Well located apartments in a lovely part of Adelaide. Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to shorten our stay by one night and leave early - the Manager Adi was extremely helpful and accommodating. I would just note that, being serviced apartments, there can be some noise from other guests in the stairwells and courtyard which may disturb sleep. The apartment is also a little dated, but otherwise a comfortable stay.
Stayed here for two nights in January 26'nDid not have a good experience. Sofa bed was uncomfortable and hotplates didn't work. We had to move rooms because of it which was a hassle. The room we moved to, the Sofa bed was not made up as requested.nI approached the front office staff and was told that as he was only one on duty he couldn't make up the Sofa bed.nLater that night when there was a new staff member there,My friend told me he made the Sofa bed up.nAlso, the front door didn't lock,so it was ajar all night.nPerhaps,before you offer apartments to customers ,check to see if the room is liveable.nNot happy with our stay.nThe front desk staff are incredibly rude.
This accommodation was fabulous. The staff were friendly and the room was large and clean. The bed was comfortable and the grounds were beautiful! There was a TV in the main bedroom, adequate heating and an electric blanket. The kitchen had everything you needed for light meals. There was a full sized fridge and we got a key each. There was a washer dryer in the bathroom and they provided a sachet of washing powder. We were located on the top floor, and most other apartments had steps so I dont know if this is wheelchair friendly. This apartment was comfortable and close to shops with cafes, pharmacy, boutiques and nail salons. The best thing as a tourist was the bus stop directly out the front which had a free bus service that took us right into the city and back. I would highly recommend Majestic Old Lion Apartments!
