I have been a repeat customer of this company and spent literally thousands with them.  The last job they did was a fail - they were paid to fix two lights and didn't do so.  When I asked them to come back to check on their previous work, the owner said I would have to pay their full rates for them to do so.  

Update: Having read the owner's  reply, I would note that she is being untruthful here. 

First, it is untrue that I asked them to fix the lights at no cost regardless of the problem.  I said nothing of the sort. I explained that the work had not fixed the problem, and asked if they could come back 'when convenient' and check their previous work.  I was told they would charge a full call out fee and the usual hourly rate, even if it turned out their previous work was not done properly.  My response was that I didn't think it would be fair for me to pay for the same work twice. The dispute was over who should pay if the previous work turned out to be substandard. I did not refuse to pay for new or different work.

Secondly, it is also not true that their paperwork showed what they did to the lights last time - I asked the owner for that information, and she expressly told me that their records were unclear and she can't ask the sparkie involved as he has left the company.  

Thirdly, in terms of the suggestion that its a coincidence the lights are broken again, I note that these are the exact same two light I paid to have fixed last time - and the only two lights that have ever been broken at my house. 

And as a final point, the reason I didn't ask them to come back more quickly was that I was trying to be considerate.  I waited until I had other paid work for them to do at the same time (the installation of new power switches) since it was not urgent to fix the lights as there are other functioning ligts in the same room.
 
Needless to say, I'm very surprised by the aggro way this business has handled a relatively small issue from a repeat customer who had never complained before.

Put in an online request and within a day I had a booking and within two days, my new oven was connected.  The onsite electrician did a great job.

I have used Mainline Electrical three times recently and each time they looked after me with prompt, professional, quality solutions.  The reception staff were really friendly, and excellent at arranging an appointment that suited me.  Electrician John came out under urgency to sort out water damaged outdoor lighting that had blown in a Wellington storm, and fixed it fast.  He later added a remote control to the garage lights, and some more outdoor lighting for our garden with dual switches at the front and back door to make things more convenient for us.   John and his trusty helper climbed around my old house into difficult roof and cellar spaces to make electrical connections and they left the place clean and tidy.  I would recommend Mainline Electrical without hesitation.  Value for money too, given the health and safety requirements contractors have to address these days.  Thank you Mainline Electrical.

One of your team came around in August and replaced a faulty switch, put in a bathroom light and heater.  I'd like to compliment him on the great service. When I got home from work everything was completed exactly as we had discussed and he had done a great job of cleaning up when he’d finished.  And he was on time in the morning.  It was a great experience in service.
