Just went today on the short rainforest circuit 1.3Km. There are others 3,9,10Km. We preferred the short one. One of the most interesting, we saw 4 kangaroos pass by. Walked through a few cob webs, guessing not a lot of people do the forest circuit. Well enjoyed it. Perfect to stretch out your legs.
We took around 2:25 hours to complete the 10.3km hike to the Mount Mitchell Pean, beautiful views the whole way up.
Multiple tracks start from this destination. There is a car park which can house probably up to 30 cars which fills up pretty fast over the weekend. I have done Mount Mitchell track from here which is about 10 Km return 2-3 hrs. With fantastic views.
Loved this, lots of slippery water crossings, snakes x4 including a fat as python that was indulging a food baby. Leeches, waterfalls, swimming holes, monitor lizards. And I can't forget to credit the birds for their brilliant sound track.
This place is stunning and full of life- You can find a variety of plants, insects, birds, trees and flowers in this beautiful national park. If you’re a bird and nature lover like me, you will absolutely love this place!
Pleasant experience and upbeat feeling after travelling through the checkpoints of the park. Plenty of animals, charming bird songs everywhere in the park. Loved the stunning 14 River crossing.
We did the hike up to Mt. Mitchell, the view from the top was really nice, most of the path got recently cleaned and wasn't overgrown too bad. Nevertheless many spiders decided to build there webs across the path. So be aware and take a stick with you ; Also due to millions of cicada it was extremely noisy in the forest in end of December
What an amazing place! It’s hard to put into words how much we loved it!! It was a long walk, but considering the height it was quite a pleasant, gradual climb to the top of the 1135m Mt Cordeaux, thankfully the views more than made up for it!! We told the kids it was only the 6.8km walk, butttttt it may have been closer to the 10km mark by the time we did 1/2 the other track!! Only an urgent toilet stop changed that plan The landscape changes are amazing and one minute you’re waking in subtropical rainforest and the next it’s all Australian natives! Absolutely stunning Well worth a stop if you’re in the area, parking is a premium though and many actually park along the Cunningham Highway
So peaceful and, so much to look at indeed. Good place for swims aswell all along the river.
Fantastic adventure out while camping at Maroon dam..Queen Elizabeth Falls were beautiful and not and walk either..2 different walks a 2km and a short top walk of about 500 mtrs..took our puppy with us but strictly no dogs allowed up there so only did short walk..Great Cafe up there beautiful food and coffee. Rd from maroon dam up very narrow and slow but a beautiful drive.
