I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with our recent stay at Madison Plaza Townsville. We found TEN cockroaches in our room — a serious hygiene issue that made the space completely unfit for staying. This wasn’t an isolated issue, and it left us feeling unsafe and distressed.nnWe checked out three days early and immediately contacted management, expecting at the very least an apology and a refund for the unused nights. Instead, we were told “it is what it is,” and our concerns were completely brushed off. There was no accountability, no apology, and no attempt to make things right. They simply didn’t care.nnThis is not how any hotel — let alone one charging for comfortable accommodation — should treat paying guests. The combination of poor cleanliness and even worse customer service is unacceptable.nnIf you care about hygiene, comfort, or being treated with even basic respect, avoid this place at all costs. I’m writing this review so that other travelers are aware of how horrible our experience was. Don’t let it happen to you.
Thank you for having me stay with you on my recent trip to Townsville.nReceptionist was warm and friendly other staff some what dismissive. The room was comfy with moderns perks. Prime location. It’s a shame there are more locals living here than holiday makers but the teach me UP THE COWBOYS
shocking experience, room stank also had a cockroach in, reception/manager didn't want to know.nemailed/rang numerous times, took 15 days to come back with a stock standard excuse.nDon't waste your money
Stayed here for a work trip. This was equivalent to a 3 star if you were in a developing country. I didn't not sleep either night. No noise insulation, could hear strange noises all time of night from corridor including a guy whistling at some point. Smelt like a mix of mould and vomit. Carpets stained, walls stained. They clearly have done what they can as bathroom was clean enough but the whole place needs a renovation to continue even claiming 3 stars. Glad work paid cause if it was my money I would have left the first night. Stay if you're desperate otherwise look elsewhere.
Front glass on entrance smashed. Homeless person exiting the elevator with all belongings. Corridors full of scratches, dim lighting. Looked like a drug den or half way house for people. curtains were dirty and broken, room carpet was dirty, room smells, service wasn't good enough, no breakfast. We left after entering our room and went and stayed at the Hotel Grand Chancellor up the road. $60 more but got free breakfast for two. Nice room, nice everything.
