Newly renovated rooms are good, but it’s still a very old building, location is great right in the city with a woolies next door. The good: Comfy and clean bed, massive tv, updated lighting, quiet fridge, espresso machine. The bad: bathrooms are tiny and awkward, blockout curtains has gaps, massive gap in door allows too much noise and light in. No pool and gym was closed although barely useable given the poor equipment.
LOVE this new look hotel. I stayed for 4 nights on a business trip at the new Holiday Inn. Such a fantastic hotel right in the heart of Townsville. Room is spacious, stylish and cozy with recent refurb, bed super comfy, and the TV screen is massive! I easily strolled to the stadium and Cotters Market. The adjoining bistro serves a solid offering of brekkie and a good coffee. Best of all ending the day with a glass of wine in the lobby. Great vibes and a super genuine place. Loved it all! Highly recommend.
This hotel is quite old, but honestly it was not as bad as some of the Google reviews suggested.nnThe staff were very professional and had a very friendly attitude. When I checked into the room, I immediately noticed a strong cigarette smell coming from the bathroom exhaust vent. I documented everything and then went downstairs to ask the front desk if the exhaust fan would be working later. They told me it should start working later, but unfortunately it still wasn’t working by the next morning.nnI asked if it would be possible to change rooms. The staff were very helpful and tried to check for another room of the same type, but none were available. However, they kindly offered an air freshener, which actually solved the smell issue after using it.nnThe air conditioning worked very well and kept the room cool and comfortable. The room itself felt smaller than what is listed on the booking platform. It is advertised as much larger, but it felt closer to around 7–10 square meters in reality.nnYou can definitely see signs of age in some corners and areas of the hotel, but overall the stay was still comfortable and not nearly as bad as some online reviews suggest.nnOne thing guests should note is that the main entrance door is locked after 11:30 pm, and you will need a key card to enter the building.nnand no parking lot, you have to find and pay your own
Just stayed at the recently opened Holiday Inn for 3 nights, was really happy to see the renovated property now launched. Looks so modern and fresh, friendly and helpful staff and the rooms were really nicely setup, with coffee pod machine and a huge TV! Super convenient location to where I was working and plenty of options around for Food and Drink, including the new restaurant in the hotel itself.nLooking forward to my next trip to Townsville, will stay again.
I accidentally left my blanket at the hotel, and the reception and housekeeping staff were amazing. They were very helpful and made sure I got it back. I really appreciate their kindness and excellent service. Thank you so much!
