THIS is the place to go for your tramping & camping needs!! It looks like a small store from the outside, but they had more stock than any other location I visited. If anything, go for ROXY. She helped tremendously and was committed to making sure I left a happy customer. With a big trip to Mt Cook looming, I had no gear and LOTS of questions. I started at the Onehunga Macpac location - they were very helpful but unfortunately many of the items I needed were out of stock. No worries, they had this Ponsonby location put the items aside for me. In addition, Roxy special ordered my rucksack from the south island Macpac for free. When I went to pick it up, she spent a lot of time making sure the fit was JUST right. Side note - Macpac has the best return policy of all the camping stores I visited Torpedo7, Bivouac, Kathmandu, Mountain Warehouse....60 days full refund with tags attached, no questions asked. This was a huge plus for me, as I was shopping around and didn't want buyer's remorse if I found something better elsewhere. I didn't, but I did end up returning a number of items just because I ended up not needing them. These guys are the absolute best. Their employees are passionate about the Macpac brand and it shows. Now I'm on TeamMacpac, all the way - the gear held up well on my trip and made it quite enjoyable. Can't wait to go on more long hikes in this great country! Thanks Macpac!!
The staff here were great. We came in needing a new jacket for a winter trip to Europe, they asked us a few questions and helped us pick out the right jackets. Really helpful when staff know what they are selling and what each item is for.
Excellent service. The Britomart shop did not have my size and called the Ponsonby store which set aside my size for me. Bought my first pair of waterproof tramping shoes here on promotion.
Macpac Ponsonby staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about their gear, Macpac products are awesome. Best place to shop for outdoor gear.
i went there to get a softshell vest without knowing anything about softshell vests. i got perfect explanations and advise by this guy joshua or josh idk. totally recommendable place for every softshell and outdoor fan!
