Story

MacLean's Booksellers is an independent bookseller in Newcastle.

The business was originally established at Hamilton in April 1997 by Mark MacLean and his wife Christine Bruderlin. Amanda and Max Shirley bought the business in February 2003 and it continues to grow.

As a wholly independent bookshop we have total control over our stock selection, and have a commitment to stocking the best backlist, the unusual, and all your favourite bestsellers. We also have an extensive children and young adult section that covers the best classic and new titles. All of us at MacLean’s are passionate about books and love to share that passion with our customers.

Lovely little bookstore! They will happily order in any book you want which is amazing. The store also has a lovely vibe with very helpful employees.
