We recently visited Mackie Mulgrave and overall had a good experience. We ordered the lamb chilli egg, which was absolutely delicious and very generously portioned. The lamb was soft and well cooked, and the dish was full of flavour without being overwhelming. I was completely full by the end, which is always a good sign! The yoghurt that came with it was also really tasty and complemented the dish perfectly.nnA big plus for us was how accommodating the staff were. My husband is lactose intolerant, and they had no issues replacing the yoghurt with avocado, which was a great alternative and showed good attention to dietary requirements. That flexibility is always appreciated.nnWe also tried the Kooling Kriptsa juice, which was refreshing and enjoyable! a nice addition to the meal. Unfortunately, the matcha was the only downside of our visit. It was quite powdery, didn’t seem to be mixed properly, and tasted very bitter, so it wasn’t something we would order again.nnThat said, the food itself was excellent, well portioned, and satisfying, and the overall experience was positive. With a small improvement on the drinks side, it would easily be a 5-star visit. We would definitely return for the food again and recommend it to others.
Great seeing a good cafe in Mulgrave again! Had the Chilli Lamb eggs, the lamb was nice and the bread was amazing. Honestly wished it had more spice or even chilli! Was a bit plain in that regards.
Came here with my partner for brunch and had a fantastic experience! The menu has a great selection- it was hard to pick between many delicious sounding dishes, but we decided on the pulled lamb Benedict. The portions are very generous here and every element of the dish was cooked perfectly and balanced.nThe staff are super kind and friendly, and we are already looking forward to our next visit! SO glad we found this place!
Second time here and still a great place to be. The pork benedict is quite good, generous with the eggs and bread as it should be. 2 pieces of bread, 2 eggs, a lot of places miss this and leaves you wanting more, I recommend this dish. Onion rings were decent as well, really crunchy but a little too salty for my liking. Friendly staff.nWish there was a staple big breakfast here, instead of just special events like fathers day.
