Some old guy calling himself Macca said he would put the revision mirror back on my windscreen the neighbours cat got into my car and was having a snooze on the front passenger seat and got the fright of its life when I opened the Drivers side door! I didn't see the cat and the cat didn't see me but it swung from the rear vision mirror and pulled it down in the process nbeing a firm believer in supporting small, local businesses, and I wanted to book in my logbook service, I took it to Macca who told me that he would fix it but had to go overseas first or some excuse he gave me and that he would ring me when he got back instead of simply telling me that the cost of the glue to put a revision mirror back on a windscreen is quite expensive and I would've completely understood that.!nYou would also think that a mechanic would know to take it to a windscreen repairer and not a mechanic. I was new to Geelong, hadn't ever had this problem and was living in my now, late fathers home in Leopold..nHe was going to call me when he got back, a call that never came!.nLong story short, after trying to ring him several times he'd say that he was still closed yet strangely enough, when I drove by the premises, the door was up and they were working ???nWhat made it worse was after hearing that they were closed, I was driving to my new home on the Bellarine Peninsula and who do you think was in front of me but one from Macca's Auto?! it turned onto the Portarlington Road from Leopold just after closing time so they weren't driving around town for kicks and giggles.nJust untrustworthy, I wouldn't let him touch my car now and I won't let him touch my new one – I despise dishonesty!nif he sold the business then congratulations. it was way past weird when I blocked my number and they answered but whoever answered the phone this afternoon,27/6/24, was rude, abrasive and when I enquired if Macca was there, he started getting quite dismissive so I said something to the effect of how I'd been let down and I truly believe lied to and that iIm not surprised by the low review rating of this establishment.nTake your car somewhere reputable, someone who's not going to lie to you about the very basics of just being open for business because as I said should he do that once, there is nothing special about me so they'd do it again!nMy mirror has been back on for a long time thanks to windscreens O'Brien and I paid nothing and got friendly service anyway!nif they can't be honest with you that they're even open do you think they're going to be honest with you with the true cost of any extra servicing that's required?nHe should've as a so-called mechanic,nknown better than myself that it would've been best to take it to a windscreen repair and not a mechanic however I had wanted to book my car in for its routine logbook service so it leaves a very bitter taste in your mouth.nPlease pardon my ignorance but I had a lot on my plate and he just made everythingna hell of a lot harder as I agreed that I would wait for him to call me and if I say I'm going to wait I will wait but it became ridiculous?nAt least I'm good for my word!nI wanted to give him the job so did drive around for sometime without a rear vision mirror and it was like driving blind but it was so much easier to be lied to than simply told to take the Car elsewhere!nAn awful experience!
if i could give no stars i would! TERRIBLE service, i got my car serviced through then charged me $1800 and 3 days later it started making a clunking sound, i tried to take it back and they refused to look at it because they said it was like that before they got it, turns out the did do a bolt up properly! when my partner tried to tell them that he got screamed at over the phone by the owner of the shop. AVOID AT ALL COST!! there are much better mechanic's around the area.
