Nice suburban local for a few drinks and a bite to eat. Food is mixed, had some good meals here and also some average ones. Atmosphere and service is always exceptional. Good gluten free options also.
Table of 6 of us guys had the “feed me” menu which saved a lot of time leaving the choice to the chef. Highlights… The pork loin was to die for. Lowlight would be the cost @$75pp. An additional dish would have been appreciated. Or dessert included.
Great service and cosy set up. Ordered a range of dishes and not disappointed with any. Unique and tasty. Would come again to try the other dishes.
Dinner at @barlune_adl - a recently opened bar and restaurant. The food was great, the drinks list was pretty extensive,, and the atmosphere was trendy, but a bit on the loud side. Had to literally shout at times to talk to the person on the opposite side of your table . So it's not for you if you hate the noise .n.nTaramasalata, shoestring fries: I quite enjoyed this dish! The fish roe was not too fishy or too rich, and the shoestring fries were excellent, and combined well with the taramasalata!n.nCeleriac and tilset croquettes: this one was a bit different compared to the usual croquettes. Tasty ingredients!n.nWood grilled Goolwa pipis, XO butter: this dish was fantastic! We always love pipis and these were cooked perfectly. Would have been nice to have some bread with this dish. Flavours are strong and the sauce was tasty, so bread would have been nice to pair with it.n.nPappardelle, duck leg, pancetta, hazelnut pangrattato: very nicely done pasta. Not the best pasta I've ever had, but it was still damn tasty! Really good duck sauce .n.nBBQ squid, chilli sambal, burnt lemon: this was super good! The squid was very tender. The sambal sauce tasted great, but again, it would have been nice to serve this dish with rice or bread. It's a bit too bold without some accompaniments.n.nGrilled pork, miso clams, smoked bacon: really tender grilled pork with delicious clams. A different version of the surf and turf .n.nBrussel sprouts, lap cheong, cauliflower, fried lentil, curry leaves: loved this dish. Lots of yummy ingredients . Really interesting to put lap cheong with the sprouts .n.nApple tarte tartin, star anise, black pepper, vanilla ice cream: the tart was super flaky. Loved the combination of the warm tart and the ice cream .n.nTorched marshmallow, white chocolate, passionfruit, pistachio: the marshmallow was really tasty, but the white chocolate was too sweet. The passionfruit was in the form of a powder, which was quite interesting.
Fantastic food! Well worth going out of your way to eat there. Very causal and good value.nTried the feed me option which was very filling. Every dish was well presented and spectacular taste wise. Standouts were definitely the kingfish, pasta and lamb but seriously, they were all really really really good!nMy only gripe was the seating but that wasn't their fault. Just too many diners probably due to their popularity. Would recommend booking and asking for an inside table. We were stuck outside in 33c heat and there were alot of flies. We finally ended up moving to the bar because of the flies. Food service was abit slow but that was no doubt again caused by the number of diners there.
