This is Tram Stop 134 (Stop ID 20518). From this stop trams 3/3a (on the East Malvern to Melbourne University route), 16 (on the Kew to Melbourne University via St Kilda Beach route) and 96 (on the St Kilda Beach to East Brunswick route) will take you through the City CBD. Trams 16 or 96 stop here each day during the week BUT trams 3/3a stop here only on weekends and Public Holidays.

Trams 3/3a and 16 travel down The Esplanade, Fitzroy Street and St Kilda Rd passing The Shrine of Remembrance, the Arts Precinct in Southbank, Flinders Street Railway Station, RMIT Uni and ends at Melbourne University. 

Tram 96 travels through a totally different route and because it's on the light rail, it will be faster than the Route 3/3a and 16 trams. Heading to the city Tram 96 travels down The Esplanade, and partly along Fitzroy Street but then turns off and will take you along Albert Park, passed MSAC, through Clarendon St, Sth Melbourne and passed the Southbank Casino, Southern Cross Station, Spencer St, Bourke St (City) and the CBD. It then travels through Fitzroy and ends in Brunswick East.

Tips: 

(1) To find out the next tram arrival time at this stop, download the Tramtraker app and enter tramTRACKER ID 2543. 

(2) You can get a tram ticket (Myki) at the 5 Star Milk Bar at nearby 58 Acland St or the 7-Eleven at 80A Acland St. You don't want to risk getting nabbed by the tram inspectors and copping a hefty fine!!! 

(3) Obviously if you don't want to head towards the city but want to go the other way, then walk across to the stop directly opposite on the other side, it's not far ;-)
