A fantastic Asian restaurant in Mermaid Waters. Starting with the excellent service, this is a great dining experience. The food is sensational and fresh- terrific flavours and nicely presented. If you want a great meal, be sure to visit Lucky Bao.Food: 5/5
Plenty of parking, and has indoor and outdoor seating. Staff were absolutely lovely, and catered well to allergy concerns. The bao were massive, with 2 per person being quite filling. They were super fluffy, and their fillings were delicious. The confit pork belly bao was a favourite! The drinks were great too pictured: Rosa S, Bobby bang. A little pricey, with 2 bao and a drink coming to around $42, but it seems to be the standard pricing for the area and Gold Coast in general. Highly recommend trying this great local place ig: @travel__eat__repeat_
We had an Eggplant & Tofu Bao and, Vegetable Gyoza with Ice coffee. The bun was mouthwatering soft and delicious, you can feel it. Especially the eggplant filling was my favourite. Must recommend if you’re into Asian fusion delicacy, one of my favourite place in the Coast to have Bao. Takeaway, Indoor and out dining option available.
It’s my first visit for lunch I had 2 baos for $22. They were nice but not wowed for me. Because I’m Japanese??? I could expected their flavor and texture… It was not much different from my thought… I should try other dishes next time. But they are a little bit expensive…..
Absolutely blown away by this little place. We did the tasting menu and everything was absolutely delicious. The staff couldn't do enough for us, they made my husband a custom cocktail, and made me the best mocktail I've had all year. Absolutely phenomenal vibes, a wonderful team and scrumptious fresh food.
I love the atmosphere of this restaurant! Specially the staffs are very friendly and kind. I just hope they make fish&chips in normal adult’s size as well- I tasted my son’s fish&chips kids menu and I loved it! I will definitely visit this place again :
Service was excellent, very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious dishes to wow your taste buds. *blankets provided for outdoor seating on request Ask for Roman he’s the best waitor! Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly
Lucky Bao have amazing food. We tried Salmon Tartare, Lamb Bao, Soft Shell Crabs Bao, Katsu Bao and Crunch Fries. They all delicious. Great service and staffs. Absolutely love this place.
to give them the benefit of the doubt we did go on a saturday night, but our food took an hour to come, with no one letting us know when it would be coming. we ordered the special which was chicken pieces but we received our bao first. so we ate that and 20 minutes later we still had not got our chicken, so we went up to ask for it just straight into a takeaway container since we did not feel like eating anymore. the server told us they forgot about the chicken and didn’t apologise but did ask if we want to cancel it. so we did. pretty disappointed, not the servers fault or anything but the kitchen needs to be more organised. also i think the bao bun should be more fluffy, and have less of a doughy taste. it was thick and doughy and overpowers the other ingredients. ALSO SUPER SUPER OVERPRICED $44pp for a drink and 3 bao each! also the servers couldnt seem to figure out which table was which Parking: had to park across the street and walk as there was no parks. it was a saturday night though so we expected that
Here's a review I know you will thank me for. What a hidden jem this place is and it is so easy to get to. You can't go past their $9 Bao Buns which are absolutely divine and HUGE. My partner and I tried the Tofu and Chicken. They were so good, we had seconds. Desert was a deep fried bao bun with icecream and peanuts, interesting I know but just give it go. We also had the Vegetable Goyza, so simple and the best bit there's 6 of them. 5 Star service, I really have to praise Nathaniel and Andres, they created such an atmosphere, giving the place a real feel. 100% have to compliment the chefs. Service was fast, and you have just enough time between plates to let the food relax. It doesn't matter if your alone, with your special someone or a group, their menu caters for everyone.
