A great place for breakfast every time I’m in Adelaide- food is always spot on. And as for people complaining about the staff?? I’ve never had anything but professional service. I think it’s just Adelaide weirdos who like staying indoors and have never left the state! seriously though- love this place
I haven’t been the Lucius for over a year. My favourite used to be the roast veg salad with goat cheese. We walked past last night and decided to grab a salad. The staff member was incredible helpful. $25 for a large salad we ordered the roast carrot salad, mushroom and potato salad. 1 $25 for a salad with no protein meat etc fine if it was spectacular 2 the salads were average in taste, there were no outstanding flavours and was very bland. We could and will make much better at home for 1/4 of the cost. I used a dip I purchased from another store to add some flavour. It wasn’t until we were walking around that we saw the salads are $33 something a kg This place has a lot of customers so they must be doing something really well I don’t eat pizza or pasta so perhaps not the place for salads
What a sad experience! I’ve been going to Lucia’s for years and would rave about it. It use to be an Adelaide institution serving the best paninis in town, however, the customer service received today at the panini counter was absolutely appalling to say the least. We received our paninis and the bread tasted stale and the overall quality of the ingredients was disappointing. I’m not sure what has happened?! Genuinely feeling disheartened after that experience.
I’m an absolute gourmet food connoisseur and thought I’d found a gem when I discovered Lucia’s hidden in the corner of Central Markets. However, to say I’ve been on the receiving end of the most disgusting, vile and disrespectful customer service from the staff here would be a grand understatement. On 2 separate occasions this month with 3 different staff members I was either ignored, disdained or told they had finished servicing barely past midday. The Central Markets are a hallowed destination for both local and international tourists and lovers of great food and this place is not representative of that. Avoid at all costs and take your business to Barossa Fine Foods or Standom’s where you’ll be greeted with a smile and they have infinitely better produce. The owner should hang their head in shame.
I LOVE the paninis. They’re out of this world delicious, but I always dread having to face the stress of the incredibly chaotic collection system. It is very frustrating. As a customer I need to mentally keep track of every other customer that arrives before and after me, to make sure those that order after me don’t accidentally take mine. A few times, I have waited up to 40 mins in busy periods where they either lost the napkin and didn’t make it, or gave mine to someone else that ordered well after I did. Rather than calling out numbers 1-7 *PLEASE* change it to leaving a name for the order, or taking and returning an order number like at a supermarket deli, etc. There has to be a better system, I’m sure I’m not the only one that thinks this and I’m sure the lovely staff hate the system too?
Amazing paninis and product but dear god, the main staff member making them in the deli is one of the rudest people I've had the misfortune to interact with in a service capacity. This isn't a one off, they are awful every single time. Blatantly ignores customers, uses the space to just stand around and have personal conversations, and is rude to fellow staff members. Not expecting much, but basic acknowledgement and service would be a start.
The most amazing paninis, with incredibly generous portions in each roll. Chaotic service and ordering / collection system, but generally worth it if you have the time.
A gastronomic experience like no other! Super fresh ingredients, small goods were just divine. I had the most popular panini that is recommended to customers and it just melted in my mouth!!! I am definitely going back for more. Thank you Lucia! Undoubtedly one of the best places to enjoy amazing food!
Rude staff and Bad service. I had a very bad customer service today, one of the lady staffs slapped my panini on the counter very hard when she served it to me with no smile, no words. I FELT TERRIBLE. I paid for it.... The owner needs to change the staff or her attitude. It was very very rude. Unacceptable
Got the fresh panini and no word of a lie, it transported me back to my time in Italy when I used to visit the salumeria. The coffee wasn't bad either, nice and strong. Cant wait to go back and try other items....if you visit, you won't be disappointed.
