Husband and wife team Lawry and Wendy Gordon (us) serve up style and substance at our beachside cafe. Fresh innovative cuisine and pouring Toby's Estate coffee, made just the way you like it!. Live as the locals do at this cafe. Very casual with an element of familiarity with it's warm service and homemade foods including some baked items. Thought is given to presentation which makes the dining experience. A great place to drop by after a session at Wamberal beach 2 min walk down the road.
Coffee was good and staff friendly. Cake options seemed a bit limited, but what I had was great!
We've been a few times and alwyas enjoy it. If the weather is sunny you may need to wait for a table as it is very popular and close to the beach. The staff are really friendly and the breakfasts are super tasty. Great blend of healthy options vs treat options. The coffee is quality stuff and the milkshakes awesome. Always recommend it to friends in the area and will be back.
Waitress was unpleasant and made us feel unwelcome. Thought maybe was having bad day but to a local was super friendly. Gave us menu, but did not clear the table. Banana bread good as not too sweet and oily. Muffins looked amazing, but had no taste. Could have more egg options for breakfast.
The first time we tried this place the food was over priced & average & so was the coffee. We just tried it for a second time in the hopes that the first time was just a one off, but unfortunately it was just as bad. The steak was like an old boot, the salmon had no flavour and both meals were well & truly overpriced for the size & quality. The service was very poor and the coffee was like warm milk. It definitely won't be getting a third try
Lunch here was really good. The pan fried chicken breast and crispy salmon we had were both delicious. Staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was cruisy and relaxed. We look forward to coming back soon.
Good coffee and food was alright but nothing great for the price. Service was as you'd expect from kids on casual wages but nothing bad. Unlike others we didn't have a terrible experience. Just average.
Lovely little cafe with a less than a 1minute walk to Wambrel beach and surf club, they make a mean coffee and the meals a fantastic with a good selection to appease all comers. I highly recommend the Lotus the service is friendly and reasonably quick as they do get very busy so if you don't mind waiting for a good thing this is the place to go.
Lovely spot, yet overpriced, small portions and we felt that the waitress was trying to get rid of us and kept trying to clear our plates before we were ready to leave. Coffee was bitter. Not worth the high prices.
My girlfriend and I walked in on Sunday 14/10/12 for any owners who care about their business and after waiting for 15 minutes to be served, walked out. When we walked in, the manager handed us two menus and told us we would be served soon. We found ourselves a table, had time to choose off the menu and sat there wondering what was happening for the next 10 minutes after that. It wasn't busy, there were roughly 12 people in and outside the cafe. We have never had to walk out of any place because we didn't get served, however the 5 girls and a man who appeared to be the manager stood flirting, talking about the previous night out and another conversation was about a personal problem with a friend for one of the girls. They even ignored us after eye contact FIVE times yes, we counted. No, we didn't expect to leave . The good thing about it was that we simply walked out and drove 5 minutes down the road to the Terrigal surf cafe which had a beautiful view by the beach and we were served our food within 5 minutes.
