Great coffee shop in Springfield. Both the food and the coffee are great here. The fried mushrooms and the avocado toast both come highly recommended. And although I didn't taste it, the acai bowl was apparently also great. The only downside is that each time we have visited some tables have been located in direct sunlight with no shade.
Great coffee and friendly service! We ordered the salmon benny and smashed avo on toast. Decent sized servings, reasonably priced. Will definitely be coming back
Lovely fresh breezy little cafe with excellent food choices on the menu and yummy cold drink options. Vegetarian options: Lots of options available to switch about. Kid-friendliness: Excellent Parking: 4 parks straight out front and 4 electric charge bays. Wheelchair accessibility: Excellent access to parking, venue and seating options. Dietary restrictions: Lots of options to switch around.
One of those in the middle cafe experiences. We've had lovely food, and we have had average from here. Service has also been mixed. It's usually a negative experience unfortunately that prompts a review from me. Today we ordered and 45 minutes later our food came out stone cold. We may come again but it won't be on the top of our list of choices as there are far more consistent options in the area.
I read great reviews of this cafe, and really wanted to award 5 stars. Friendly, helpful and professional staff 100% Food - i'm personally disappointed ANOTHER cafe serves eggs Benny with no option to have English muffins, I can't handle sour dough bread with E.B. But that's just me. coffee was very enjoyable, my compliments to the barista. No soft drinks on the menu - which is all i was seeking. For breakfast, as I avoided the eggs Benny, I settled for the Lotus cheese burger. $20 for the burger. No chips or salad. Just a burger. I was more impressed by a hamburger I paid $6 for at Nerang Soccer club yesterday. The missus got a chocolate milkshake cost $8 and she got what we consider half a milkshake by other cafe/ takeaway measures, it was a low profile glass? the trendy re-purposed jar missing a screw top lid apparently. Granted she ordered eggs on toast, added bacon - $20 - lots on the plate. End of the day, we got a Lotus cheese burger, large chips, average aioli sauce we couldn't stomach, eggs on toast with bacon, a small lactose free milkshake, a small mug of flat white, a bottle of cold tap water and payed $70. The seating had my back eventually getting hit with the sun on lowish height tables. Again on a positive note we sat amongst other diners who brought their furry friend - we love dogs, and have one ourselves. The atmosphere relaxed and easy going.
What a way to start our morning. My wife orders carrot cake for our son, first spoon the cake was frozen. So much for freshness! Anyways We let that go. Then continue to wait for 45mins for our breakfast. Only to find out that they didn't even process our order. When I spoke to the manager she told me she will sort it out. 5mins later still nothing was sorted. Only when I came back did she act. I've seen them busy before but today was pretty quiet so no excuses there. We ended up asking for our money back. I've been to lotus a few times and this will be the last. Service was horrible and the food quality was terrible. Sad to see as we loved supporting local but when you get serviced like that...
Enjoyed the falafel wrap! Very fresh and tasty. Quite a busy cafe during the week for the nearby workers I assume. Must pay to use the carpark next to the cafe.Food: 5/5
My partner and I waited 50 minutes for two meals and it wasn't in peak time. There were barely any people at the cafe. There was no apology when the meals were finally taken out. The hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict tasted like actual melted butter. The morning was very expensive considering the wait time and the taste of that hollandaise sauce. The coffee is not my favourite either. If there was one good takeaway from the morning, it would be the house made lemonade.
It was just ok for me... not a place I'd rush back to without prompting. Chill atmosphere, busy vibe. Staff were very helpful. Coffee and food was quick. Coffee - green fruity notes.... bacon eggs benny - hollandaise needed something extra
Unfortunately Lotus is just not what it used to be. The prices just keep going up while the service and quality goes down. We’ve been customers since they first opened and we used to frequent every weekend without fail for breakfast. The customer service is almost non existent now. Today we ordered breakfast and cold drinks and had finished our meals with no sign of our drinks. I had to mention it to one of the staff who looked quite put out and said she’d look in to it. After a while we were standing up ready to leave as we’d long finished our meals and I went to ask if they could be put in to take away cups instead and before I could get a word out was told ‘they’re coming’. Nice. A sorry about forgetting your drinks in the first place would have been nice. They have water on tap but no cups out, you have to ask again seems to put the staff out if you do that. No condiments - I mean I get the whole covid thing but I can’t say I’ve been to any other coffee shop recently who hasn’t either put them back out or at the very least asks you if you want any when they deliver your meals. I wouldn’t dare ask the staff for any and put them out even more. The bread is never buttered which I’ve always found very strange. People don’t want to eat dry toast. Everything seems to come with poached eggs these days whereas previously they didn’t. To change my eggs to scrambled yep it costs extra but removing them from the avocado altogether they never used to have them will certainly not come any cheaper. They mention dukkah with the avo but it is invisible on the plate these days. It used to be so generous and really added to the dish. If you’re lucky they’ll remember to give you a tiny wedge of lemon, but often forget. Plain avo toast with no lemon or dukkah or salt is just not great for the price. At least they’ve removed the mention of balsamic from the latest menu as again that used to be amazing with their avo, now you can barely make it out as garnish on the plate. This was my caramel slice today. Barely any caramel and the chocolate on top was spotty and tasted stale like it had been sitting there a while. Such a shame what’s happened to this much loved spot of ours. Certainly won’t be rushing back.
