Great pub off the main streets. Typically you see people hanging out outside with a pint so you can't miss it. Inside there is the cosy pub dining room or the wintergarden style area. All connected to the old bar area. Food is classic pub selection and pretty good. Check the specials as there is always a treat on there..foodwise and beer wise.nOne of my favourite in Sydney.
Stepping into this old, charming English pub feels like a trip back in time. Memorabilia covers the walls, giving you something interesting to look at in every direction, and the layout is full of cozy nooks and crannies that make it perfect for settling in. The menu is classic, no-nonsense English fare done right. You can’t go wrong with the scotch egg, fish and chips, or bangers and mash. And the Yorkshire puddings? Absolutely out of this world. A proper pub in every sense.
Great atmosphere. Proper old school English style pub. Awesome selection of beers and the Pork Pie with Branston Pickle and Hot English mustard was epic!
This was an unexpected gem of a place. Recreates the feel of a British pub which is more cosy and homey than the Aussie variety. I loved the British beer and my Brit pub lunch at a table near an open log fire. The Old Speckled Hen on tap was a real highlight. 5 stars for atmosphere. Thanks!
Great Sunday Roast and a good range of beers. There was a very thick and tender piece of pork on my plate, carrots, green beans, butternut squash, potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, and a small dish of apple sauce. It was very tasty but if I was to be really picky I would have liked to have crispy roast potatoes. The Badlands beer was excellent, a nice strong dark beer, it reminded me of drinking Everards Old Original in the The Crows Nest, in Leicester in the UK in the 1970's with my friend Nige Matthews.
