We dined there Sunday 29th October 2017. I've given the 1 for the friendly service but unfortunately I would have given 5but the food bought it down. The lemon lime and bitters drink was delicious but as for the food what a total let down. I had the beef ribs with fries- beef ribs were chewy and the thick membrane left under the ribs was so disgusting & not delicious at all, not to mention my husband's salad that had 1 one cherry tomato cut in half 8 leaves of rocket lettuce that was drowned in some horrible liquid they couldn't/ wouldn't even give us a full tiny bucket of peanuts. I felt like it was false advertising, if you ready there write up in their menu about how well the cook their ribs that they chased down the best recipe in Texas and then your served what I got then you would think the same. There is NO way they slow cooked these ribs for hours & hours as stated or they would be falling apart, these were lucky to have been cooked for 2hrs at the most & thats being generous. The fries were under cooked & only warm. Why bring back a restaurant that had fantastic name beautiful delicious food and trash the good name it had. If I was the owner I would be ashamed of what was being delivered unless they just don't care, which I think may unfortunately might be that because you read the reviews and the management/ owner have not replied to any of the reviews which I find disrespectful towards there customers. I feel sorry for the front of house staff as they have no control of the poor quality of food being sent out. The old saying goes- Don't fix something that ain't broke, the old day line star was perfect so why even think of bring back a restaurant if you can't keep up the same standards. I hope management read and reply to this but as I suspect the don't care and won't. PROVE ME WRONG Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Great food and friendly service, although there was a bit of a wait on mains due to the nature of the meals. Definitely need appetisers to tie over before mains, large serves so don't fill up on starters either!! Research meals so you can order straight away!
The beef ribs were excellent however both the chips and coleslaw was average. The restaurant has a wooden ranch feeling. Service was adequate. The pricing was moderately expensive. It would be nice if they had lunch time specials.
We dined here last weekend. Despite reading a lot of bad reviews, we decided to go anyway as we both loved Lone Star when we were younger. The evening started out fine, we ordered drinks 2 milkshakes and they arrived very quickly, and were good quality. We then ordered entrees and mains. Entrée was the Amarillo steak fries, and they were delicious. The fries were crispy and well seasoned, and the cheese and bacon were smoky and well cooked. There was a bit of nudity underneath once you ate the top layer of cheese, but not a deal breaker. Mains were a different story. I ordered the aloha dog. It came out on a thick, dense baguette-type roll, with no sauce whatsoever, just the dog, cheese, bacon and a couple of slabs of pineapple. It was dry and inedible. My husband had the beef ribs. Once again the fries were well cooked and seasoned, but the ribs were tasteless, dry fatty and gristly. They needed sauce, seasoning, and to be trimmed before serving. I can’t fault the service as the waiters were attentive and the food came out quickly. But the mains left a lot to be desired. I may return in a year if it’s still going, to see if improvements have been made, but I can’t see myself returning any time soon.
Went here last night, had looked at all the bad reviews but thought we would try it anyways as they might just be teething issues with the new business. I've worked in hospitality for 10+ years so I know how a restaurant should run. Food was average and barely warm. Pork ribs tasted and smelt off and after my trips to the bathroom last night I will assume they were! Staff obviously have never worked in a restaurant at all and had no guidance from a manager that I could see, no presence on the floor from them. Your barman is useless and clearly does not give a damn about professionalism or at least creating a warm and welcoming entrance for customers. Two girls working the floor need to learn the menu. Slow to order but we're told it was the hand held taking too long to load. Received the wrong entree garlic bread. A lot will improve in time but I won't be returning. My suggestion is to hire some experienced staff and supervisors or managers to get it up and running and under control and teach the rookies how a restaurant service should run
Awful dining experience. Took ages for our meals to come. Thick 'skin' on mayonnaise, tasteless food, not made with fresh ingredients. My friend's chicken was pink in the middle! She sent it back & was given another chicken which was also uncooked. Totally unacceptable, she could have gotten sick. Small meals for the price. No bar & no sanitary bins in the women's toilets? We won't be going back. We felt bad the wait staff. They were wonderful, so friendly & attentive but copped so much flack for the bad food. The table next to us complained about the caterpillar in their tomato and were given excuses from a manager that didn't seem sympathetic at all.
Went there for dinner with friends last night & the one star is only for the two waiters that were friendly. This place is a far cry from a steak house. I ordered the eye fillet medium rare & was served a fatty cremated scotch fillet that was so overcooked it was dry & grainy. The only meal I have ever sent back only to be served again with the wrong steak that was still way overdone! The meals if my friends were also terrible, taco salad & a pork chop with a terrible baste. A you red head waitress asked how the food was & when I told her not great but not to worry about it, she returned after taking the plates & said the steak would not be charged but snydely said she checked with her manager & chef & they all agreed that the 2/3rds of the fatty steak left on the plate was pink! Plus we saw a couple on a table over from us complain to the waiter about the ribs as well. This place won't last for long. They only had 4 tables full & now it's easy to see why. Any chef who doesn't know the difference between an eye fillet & scotch fillet or between over well done & medium rare should get out of the kitchen!
Strangest rib house experience. I got the feeling this place was trying to ripoff the American Lone Star Steak House as the decor and concept were nearly identical except for a couple of things...one being the food. The ribs here were to be massive and what my husband got was a very skinny, undercooked and unpleasant tasting rack of ribs. I ordered the pulled pork burger. This was not pulled pork but pork lumps with a bizarre tasting sauce topped with cheese. Pulled pork should never be topped with cheese! All up, this is a far cry from a rib house or a wannabe American Lone Star Steak House. Don't waste your time or money. Go someplace else!
Worst restaurant I have eaten at in a long while... service was good hence the one star but the food was absolutely awful it tasted and smelt off. The food tastes like it was cooked left uncovered in the fridge for 3 days then re-heated, the Pork was cooked ok However was barely warm. The sauce used to baste the meat was absolutely horrible, coleslaw was tasteless besides the fridge taste and the Chips were the only good thing on the plate! I recommend the owners/staff Please go and eat at some reputable “American style” and “steak & rib house” restaurants and re think your flavours, suppliers and how you can cook and serve hot good tasting food!
Food was dreadful. Luke warm and not tasty at all. Ranch fries had been microwaved and still cold. Nobody in the place looked happy, customers or staff. It took 3 different tries to get a drink that they had in stock and no liquor licence. We were also overcharged but unfortunately I didn't realise until I got home and thought about it. We paid $39 for 2 soft drinks, 2 chicken tenders and soggy ranch fries. I had been charged for the drinks that they didn't have
