We turned up for dinner without a booking a couple of days before Christmas, and after a short wait we were lucky enough to be seated. The service by all who dealt with us was on point, exceptional! The food was next level, massive servings packed with flavour leaving 3 of us very full and satisfied. I highly recommend the Lone Star Gisborne, you won't be disappointed.
Great place for some drinks and a bite to eat. Nice setting with great views of the harbour and nicely positioned to watch the sunset. Food and service were good, beer was nice and cold. Tables outside on the deck are nice and big so ideal if you are a group of friends meeting up for some drinks. Overall, it was a great experience and I would visit again.
Overall a good meal, typical Lonestar, just like every one across the country. Decent steak cooked to my liking, only gripe was the sauce was a bit sparse, ran out about half way through. For the money I think buying a better cut from the supermarket is probably worth the effort.Food: 3/5
I enjoyed my meal here. The only feedback I have is to ensure your diners aren't completely forgotten about. Apart from asking for our order and drink on arrival, it was near impossible to catch someone's attention for another drink or takeaway container. The waitress kept walking right past us
Pros: Good location with many tables offering views over the water. Large portions, with varied menu that has something for everyone. Service was as good as expected. Wine pours felt large. Cons: While some dishes such as the salmon were excellent, the fish sneaked in at above average, and the beef burrito was slightly bland. Some prices were a little on the high side for what you got. Can be busy, with slow service. Overall: Satisfactory experience, with some of our party very happy, while others were just so so. Would recommend for large groups of friends, birthday parties etc.
Our young waitress was lovely and friendly. The food was nice but wasn't what we were hoping for. My husband & I both changed our choice of meal instead of getting what we normally would get, and we were both left disappointed. We like Lonestar so next time we will stick to what meals we like.Food: 2/5
Was my second night of dinning, staff are friendly and given we had no reservation we were quick to be seated. I had the spare ribs, 9 of them, with wedges and a lovely coleslaw, I confess, of the 9 supper big rids, I managed 4, but I did eat 80% of the coleslaw. The harbor view is lovely, and yes I'll be back tomorrow night. Will share photos from the first night too
Nice restaurant for a good dinner. Love the food. And the atmosphere of this place is very fun. Staff have been nice every time I've went.Food: 5/5
