Unbelievable. Best variety of meals I've seen in along time, and all so beautifully presented. A real visual treat that the photos don't really do justice. And on top of that each meal was exquisite in taste. But wait... there's more... the staff, the location - both top notch. I live in Sydney and I would consider moving here just for this place... well done.
This place is amazing. It really is. Been here a few times and every time has been special. You can sit inside or outside, but no matter where you sit you’re guaranteed to have great views of the river and great food. The seafood spaghetti is insane. Fresh seafood cooked to perfection and tossed over a bed of pasta. Beautiful. The oysters here are the best I’ve had in the Bay Area. For me, the best restaurants are not the ones serving the best food but the ones that give you an experience with great food and good service. These guys tick all the boxes.
We shared a wonderful intimate dinner at this picturesque restaurant on the shores of Little Beach near Nelson Bay. This restaurant offers stunning views over the water and service at a level I'd never experienced. The staff took the time to ask our names and used them throughout the evening and were attentive without being intrusive. The food matched the service and was faultless and large enough to satisfy our appetites. The restaurant operates on a fixed price system where you either select two or three courses and pay accordingly. The wine and cocktails complemented the quality of the food and service to the highest standard. This is an experience I'd highly recommend anyone in the Nelson Bay area to do as you won't be disappointed!
Came to the Little Beach Boathouse for dinner whilst staying in the bay. Lovely restaurant in out of the way of everything with a beautiful view of the water. Restaurant was packed so definitely book in before you come. 2 and 3 course available and very reasonably priced at $60 and $70 respectively. Food was delicious and very tasty, with plenty of options for all. Staff were friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu and what to get. Plenty of parking. All in all really happy with our choice to come here.
What an amazing restaurant at Nelson Bay! I booked this way in advance for my husbands birthday and purchased the premium dining package and we were completely blown away by the quality and service. The location is perfect and right by the water and the food was amazing and the seafood was so fresh. And every single one of the staff were absolutely amazing and so friendly and they honestly made us feel like family. It was such a wonderful experience, I can’t wait to go back to Nelson Bay just to dine here again!
Great range of options + knowledgeable staff! When booking online you have the option to alert them to any dietary/allergy requirements. On arrival we got a separate vegan/vegetarian menu with everything clearly labelled, and the staff were also very well trained on what was vegan and what could be made vegan. A side note that they’re very well trained for most allergies as they made sure my partners peanut allergy was communicated with the kitchen. The price is higher but for entree + main + dessert and sides it all was well worth the price. A very big shout out to our server Sherwin who made the final night of our honeymoon enjoyable and filled with laughs!
The portions here are HUGE given the price/quality. Ordered a few different things and everything tasted great. All the meats were cooked as requested. Plenty of salad. The views are really good and worth a window seat if you can get one. The restaurant also has a cozy feel being in a boathouse.
My partner and I had such a great memory dining at Little Beach Boathouse six years ago that we decided to go back on our trip to Port Stephens again this month. The service was excellent; catering for my needs being pregnant and all. We really enjoyed the beef tartare and sticky date pudding. I had the squid ink pasta again as it was one of the main reasons we wanted to go back. My husband really enjoyed it not so much the fish he ordered although I could’ve sworn it tasted differently from memory. Nonetheless, it was still very good and we would definitely go back again.
We ate at the lower deck of the Little Beach Boathouse. There was a lovely atmosphere as the sun set. The staff were friendly and the food was both excellent and quick; I loved every dish, but the risotto absolutely knocked my socks off. There was also a proposal at the table next to us; fellas, this would ABSOLUTELY be a terrific place to pop the question.
Beautiful spot for drinks but don’t miss out grabbing some fresh fish while you’re at it. Some of the freshest calamari I’ve had in a long time and delicious truffle fries. House Pinot was great as well, nice selection of wines and can watch the dolphins swim by
